Empower Black Maternal health!

Participate in our Gestational Diabetes research study from the University of Illinois Chicago. We're inviting Black pregnant women to be part of our groundbreaking study on Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM) and make a significant impact on maternal well-being.

πŸ“šπŸ”¬ Our mission: GDM disproportionately affects Black women, posing unique challenges. We aim to develop a specialized DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) dietary intervention, catered specifically for Black women at high-risk for GDM. By conducting formative research, including surveys, focus groups, and Community Advisory Boards (CABs), we're determined to create effective solutions and improve maternal health outcomes.

🌟 Help improve Black maternal health today! β€œDASH for US” needs your help and support to investigate how to improve maternal health.

We urgently need the support of Black pregnant women like you! GDM disproportionately impacts Black women, leading to higher risks of hypertensive disorders during pregnancy and future cardiometabolic diseases.
Our mission is to develop a specialized DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) dietary intervention, tailored specifically for Black women at high-risk for GDM. Your participation will be crucial in shaping this program.

πŸ“ By sharing your valuable insights through surveys, focus groups, and Community Advisory Boards (CABs), you’ll help create a personalized and culturally relevant approach to combat GDM risks.

πŸ“§ Be a driving force in improving maternal health! Get involved today with https://redcap.link/d4ah5tsn to join this transformative research. Together, we can pave the way for healthier pregnancies and brighter futures! 🌈

Welcome to DASH for Us! πŸ“šπŸ”¬ We're committed to shedding light on Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM) and its significant impact on Black pregnant women. GDM poses unique challenges for expecting Black mothers, and we're determined to make a difference in their maternal health outcomes.

The goal of our study is to develop a specialized DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) dietary intervention, specifically tailored for Black women at high-risk for GDM. GDM disproportionately affects Black women, making them 1.6 times more likely to endure hypertensive disorders during pregnancy, a leading cause of Black maternal mortality. Additionally, they face 2-3 times higher risks of future cardiometabolic diseases due to GDM.

Our research involves formative methods, including surveys, focus groups, and Community Advisory Boards (CABs), which will guide us in creating a culturally relevant and effective
intervention.

By working together and understanding the unique challenges Black pregnant women face, we can pave the way for a healthier and more equitable future for all! Join us on this transformative journey. Join our study today at https://redcap.link/kopcb8ba!
