What if instead cycling through “GI” powders & having an on and off again relationship with elimination diets ….

You addressed the very reason why you have symptoms in the first place?

A true root cause approach I’ve seen work time & time again (300+ times to be exact) ‼️

Everyone’s “why” is different ….

But for moms, their “why” tends to be their babies 🥹

So many applications come through saying “I just want to feel better to be a better mom to my kids” 💔

Because the truth is struggling with gut issues, fatigue, skin issues, histamine symptoms and even numerous food reactions is taxing.

Mentally & physically.

… and I want to step in to say it doesn’t have to feel isolating, hard or even defeating when you have the right answers, support & practitioner in your corner 🫶

Just the other day a win came through from client L saying

“I went to the beach this past weekend and felt so comfortable wearing a bathing suit and not needing to hide my skin (eczema)… HUGE WIN!!!!! BMs have been more consistent/ satisfying even with traveling this past weekend!”

Client L being one of those “I want to feel better to show up for my kids” applications 🥲

Honored to also make your “why” your reality.

Steal my strategy for candida overgrowth 👇🏻

First, it’s so important to know that yeast and fungus are normal parts of the gut microbiome.
The issue isn’t that they’re there… it’s when they start to overgrow.

And that only happens when the gut environment allows it to. ‼️

THIS is where I see a big disconnect with most approaches.

Most of the clients I work with are already eating really well… and when they go even lower carb or more restrictive, their symptoms don’t improve — most cases, they get worse.

Because we’re skipping the more important question: Why is the gut environment supporting this overgrowth in the first place?

In practice, Candida is rarely the only thing driving symptoms. It’s usually happening alongside bigger-picture imbalances like:

‼️ Poor digestion (low stomach acid, not breaking down food well)
‼️ Slow motility (things not moving → more opportunity for overgrowth)
‼️ Bacterial imbalances or other overgrowths
‼️ History of antibiotics or recurrent infections
‼️ Immune dysregulation / mold exposure
‼️ Even mineral imbalances that can impact how well we break down the foods we’re eating and can feed Candida (iron, copper)

If digestion is off, food isn’t properly broken down and those hunks of food more fuel for microbes, including yeast!

So instead of Candida being the issue, it’s often a byproduct of the environment. And if we only focus on cutting sugar or carbs, without addressing that environment, we miss the root of what’s actually going on.

By the time a histamine client comes to me, they’ve likely already tried avoiding foods, restricted their diet, and spent months tracking every reaction. ✍🏻

While dealing with their own unique combination of histamine symptoms — they’re exhausted from constantly trying to pinpoint a “problem food.”

Once you’ve hit the point of “my diet feels so confusing”, the real shift isn’t about removing more foods. It’s about asking … What’s actually causing histamine to build up in the first place — and why isn’t the body breaking it down properly?

Because once we unpack that story, it often becomes clear that food was never the main issue.

A lot of people following a low histamine diet feel like their triggers are constantly changing.

✔️One day a food feels fine.
❌The next day it doesn’t.

Not because your body is random — but because histamine itself fluctuates.

So when the focus is only on removing foods, it can quickly turn into a guessing game.

Instead, the real shift happens when you start looking at what drives histamine build-up in the body.

I broke this down more in a blog post on histamine — comment “HISTAMINE” for the link!

One of the most important things I teach my clients is that when it comes to gut health… you have to go in order to see the results you’re looking for.

But a lot of the time we skip steps. ❌

We jump straight to addressing the big, shiny things —
SIBO, infections, bacterial overgrowth, parasites.

But sometimes we completely miss the step of asking:
are you actually digesting your food well?

…and it’s often the exact reason why clients come to me AFTER doing multiple gut protocols and still feel stuck.

Because before you focus on killing things off, your body actually needs to be able to break down the food you’re eating (very important). Digestion comes before the gut ‼️

Breaking down food properly requires of course slowing down and chewing well …. but also digestive juices like:

👉🏻 stomach acid
👉🏻 bile
👉🏻 digestive enzymes

And to make these digestive juices, we need nutrients — specifically minerals. 💡

Even if you eat a really healthy diet, it’s honestly pretty easy to end up pretty depleted. Not only because of how depleted our soil is nowadays, but stress, sweating, workouts, coffee, looser stools, busy schedules… all of it can drain minerals faster than we realize.

If I were starting today, I wouldn’t hyperfocus on gut infections (or anything google told me 🤣) YET & I’d get really serious about minerals.

Especially sodium, potassium, and magnesium.

If you want an easy place to start, you can download my free Mineral Mocktail Guide with mineral deep dives and simple recipes to support mineral balance.

As we nose dive into the topic of food sensitivities, I want you to know food sensitivities are very much a real thing and this will always be a safe space to recognize when they are a true part of your story.

BUT - they are just simply over diagnosed in the gut health space or assumed to be the “reason for symptoms” much too quickly, and it breaks my dietitian heart. 💔

There are actually quite a few types of food reactions you want to assess and address FIRST before you loop in the question of food sensitivities.

Other root causes of food reactions:

👋🏼 Having high histamine or a histamine intolerance
👋🏼 Fat malabsorption or not breaking down fats well
👋🏼 Poor digestive enzyme production, low elastase, or EPI
👋🏼 Low stomach acid
👋🏼 Gut infections like H pylori
👋🏼 Bacterial overgrowth or SIBO
👋🏼 Mineral deficiencies
👋🏼 Food allergy (diagnosed by an allergist using an oral food challenge and/or skin prick test)

For Amy, the right testing allowed for her to address the right root cause(s) of her diarrhea, bloating after meals & headache/ vertigo spells after specific foods — giving her the long-term solution to her gut issues she was looking for. 🥂

After a few months of a root cause approach, Amy sent me the message …

“I couldn’t wait until our check in — I had almonds and bananas this week with no reaction! Thank you X 10000!”

To understand what is driving your food reactions, you will want to bring in the proper testing to address the above. Testing such as:

‼️ HTMA hair mineral testing
‼️ GIMAP stool testing
‼️ Nutrient, gut, liver & histamine specific blood labs

I see so many clients come to me when they feel stuck or truly… defeated.

But what I tell every single one of them, and what I want you to hear too—is this:

Your symptoms are not random. 👀

They’re clear clues pointing to what’s actually going on inside your body.

We often get stuck thinking:

❌ “This food is the problem”
❌ “I need to eliminate more”
❌ “My gut is just sensitive”

But in reality… your body is communicating very specifically.
Upper bloating? That tells me something. Stinky gas? Also information. Histamine reactions? Rarely just a “high-histamine food” issue.

What most people miss is this 👇🏻

Symptoms pave the way for what we need to look for in testing.

✔️ bloating location matters
✔️ reactions to food matter
✔️ bowel movement patterns matter
✔️ timing of symptoms matters

Yet instead of following the patterns and data, we’re often told to:

🚩 cut entire food groups
❌ follow long elimination diets
🩹 patch symptoms

Which only adds confusion and restriction—without resolving the real problem.

You don’t always need more questioning or complexity—
you just need clear answers and the right practitioner to connect the dots for you!
