This moment from 's latest special on hit way too close to home for many of us. It perfectly captures the frustration of trying to explain deeply rooted cultural values—like the importance of family, collectivism, and honoring your parents, to someone who might not fully understand.

That’s why culturally responsive care is so important. Working with a therapist who gets your background means you don’t have to start from square one every session or explain why “no contact” might not be the right move for your situation. Part 1: I was asked to be in a podcast with Sumaino, a fellow at a leadership exchange program called Community Engagement Exchange (CEE) Program through the Ombudsman Chicago High Schools.

“Within this practicum I decided to launch a podcast project that invites diverse mental health professionals to be guests and talk about different mental health issues that students face at school and suggest practical strategies that can help students to deal with them.”

I hope this podcast brings my listeners, parents, students, and other caregivers some quality information and resources.
