Jardin de Ixchel 2026 🌿

From the damp jungle floor to the towering heights of Tikal, our March retreat was a living tapestry of ancient wisdom.

We began our journey deep in the garden with Dr. Rosita Arvigo. Beyond the lectures, we lived the medicine—spending our afternoons harvesting directly from the earth and sharing vibrant, organic dishes prepared from the very plants we studied. There is a specific kind of healing that happens when you eat from the land that is also teaching you its secrets.

Rosita shared the lineage of her apprenticeship with Don Elijio Panti, teaching us to recognize the phases of the Goddess Ixchel and how to tend to spiritual ailments like sustos. We felt the physical and spiritual weight lift during our sacred plant baths, a true cleansing of the spirit.

Fire and Lineage 🕯️

The journey culminated in the ancient ruins of Tikal. Under the guidance of Day Keeper Tata Ismael, who traveled from Lago de Atitlán, we were held in a powerful fire ceremony.

As we sat with Abuelo Fuego, we gave offerings to our nawals and watched our intentions rise with the smoke. Between the nourishing food of the garden and the transformative heat of the ceremonial fire, we were reminded that healing is both a physical feast and a spiritual surrender.

Our Story

Since opening our doors in January of 2011, we at Verde Holistic Wellness Studio have prided ourselves in delivering our holistic and spiritually-driven approach to therapy and healing. Born from the hard work of Pilsen-native Crystal Dorado, Verde is an expansion of the work Crystal performed throughout her time at numerous spas in the country and through her own private practice. Driven by an eagerness to heal and rehabilitate, with Verde Crystal was able to take her spiritual beliefs, interweave them into her craft and pass them on through the art of massage and energy work.

Born and raised in Pilsen, Crystal felt the need to return home after living in two different states, taking what she has learned through the years and bring it to the city that made her who she is. Crystal’s work had humble beginnings within the realm of massage therapy, but as the years went on, Crystal began to delve into the spirituality behind the craft and now passionately incorporates into everything that Verde does. With the help of a passionate and driven staff, Verde is able to provide first class services that include skin care, energy work, meditation, and spiritual wellness all in conjunction with massage.
