I’m officially certified in Women’s Health! I’ve been spending the last few months working on this certification and I’m so happy to report it’s complete 🙌

Evidenced-based content for:

Your physical therapist just got a little smarter!

I’m not a nutritionist or endocrinologist or functional medicine practitioner or sleep specialist or internist but this certification has given me the information to discuss basic Food As Medicine topics and have a BETTER idea of when to refer you to the right professional.

Also my lunches look (slightly) better. Still work to be done there.

Sugar is fun and delicious and I eat a lot of almond croissants 🥐

BUT I know I feel better when I’m adding more fiber, vegetables and protein.

You won’t see me eliminating an entire food group. You won’t see me feeling bad about myself when I’m eating sugar. I won’t be calling foods bad or good. We’re talking nutrient density and foods that optimize our daily function. Sugar has its place and I hope it’s hear to stay, but I’m not relying on it as my best source of energy.

We transformed the clinic into a living room/dining room/education center. We talked about what health and wellness should look like in our lives and what steps we can take to treat our bodies better. We took deep breaths, revisited information from high school health ed, talked about new trends. We learned more about the orchestra of hormones, stress and inflammation, hydration, sleep, exercise and even the gut microbiome. What a day. We’re all on our own journey to better health and I’m thankful for all of you for attending and contributing with anecdotes and experience. We need each other 🏋️‍♀️🤸‍♀️👸🏿👩‍🍼🏃🏻‍♀️🫶🧘🏾‍♀️

Already thinking through changes and improvements and what’s next for Wellness Events BECAUSE THIS STUFF IS SO IMPORTANT! 👏👏👏
