Personal Transformation Story
When I decided to leave BTY a year ago, I was looking for something and had that feeling and question, that I think a lot of people have “why don’t I ever feel like I’m enough?”
So, I made a bold decision. Left the gym, moved to California then Austin, started a new company, and switched my training to men’s physique. The results:
Dialed my nutrition in more than ever.
Training became less and less fun.
Got leaner than I’ve ever been in my life.
Won 1st place in 2 of my 3 shows.
Didn’t love California or Austin, moved back to Chicago.
In seeking the “why don’t I ever feel like enough?” Didn’t change because I was focusing on the wrong things. When the outcome of training is just for low bodyfat and vanity, you have to acknowledge a few things:
You’re going to get weaker
You have to deprive yourself of calories for energy
You’re going to feel tired all the time
The perks, sometimes if you’re outside with your shirt off, someone will tell you “nice abs” but more often than that, they’ll say “eat a donut!” And unless you’re on a lot of drugs, you’ll just feel really skinny with your clothes on.
Where am I going with this?
When I’m most fulfilled in my training, I’m doing it for my health, strength, and athleticism. So I can do MORE things. So I have MORE energy.
This is why I created the STRONG ATHLETE program. This is what I love. Getting stronger and being more athletic. Being able to do more things outside of the gym. And feeling that way with my shirt on or off.
