At Gifted Hands International, our work has always been rooted in one mission:
Encourage. Educate. Empower.

Today, we’re leading with encouragement! We believe encouragement is more than kind words.

It is a form of care.

To encourage a Black woman is to:
remind her she is seen
affirm her voice matters
stand with her in moments where she may feel overlooked

Encouragement builds confidence.
Confidence builds advocacy.
Advocacy saves lives.

Today, we invite you to encourage a Black woman.

Leave a message that uplifts a Black woman.
It could be:
• a kind word
• a reminder of her strength
• something you wish someone told you

Let’s fill this space with life. Tag her so we can love on her too!

Higher standards of care start here.

Every mother deserves to be heard, respected, and cared for before, during, and after childbirth.

But Black women in the U.S. are still facing alarming disparities in maternal care and outcomes. This is more than a statistic; it’s a crisis rooted in systemic inequities that continue to put Black mothers at risk.

This , we’re lifting up this reality, and the urgent need for change.

May is a month that holds so much meaning. It’s a time to honor motherhood, uplift maternal health, and continue advocating for the families we serve every day.

As birthworkers, we pour so much into others, but spaces like this remind us to pour into each other too.

Join us for an evening created just for doulas
Connection. Community. Real conversations. And a little fun along the way.

Today we honor the hands, hearts, and voices that show up for our families every single day.

Black doulas are more than birth workers. They are advocates, protectors, educators, and a source of strength in some of life’s most vulnerable and powerful moments. They help bridge gaps in care, uplift our communities, and contribute to better outcomes for Black mothers and babies.

This work is rooted in legacy, culture, and a deep commitment to ensuring that every family feels seen, heard, and supported.

At Gifted Hands International, we recognize and celebrate the impact of Black doulas everywhere. Your presence changes lives. Your work matters.

Encourage. Educate. Empower.

Black Maternal Health Week begins today.

And while we talk about physical outcomes, we cannot ignore what’s happening mentally and emotionally.

Pregnancy and postpartum can be overwhelming.
For many Black women, it comes with added layers of stress, fear, and not feeling heard or supported.

This is where doulas matter.

Doulas are not just there for labor.
They provide continuous support, reassurance, education, and advocacy before, during, and after birth.

They create space for women to feel seen.
To feel safe.
To be supported without judgment.

At Gifted Hands International, we train doulas to understand the full experience.
Not just the physical, but the emotional and mental health needs of the families they serve.

Because care is not complete if mental health is ignored.

Follow along this week as we continue the conversation.
