I know in black and brown (especially) communities, the idea of being a donor is so taboo. I’ve read many articles of people removing their “donor status” from their licenses and IDs…. I did too, before I was in need of a donated organ. I didn’t really know or understand the full scope of organ donation 💚Please 🙏🏾 do your research and open your mind to the idea that in both life and death you may be able to aid in elongating the life of someone you know/love or a comple stranger. Donating is a labor of love 💚

For almost 7 months, we have battled with this plight, BUT GOD‼️ We have to deal with residual side effects, BUT GOD‼️ Chip is operating at its optimal capacity, THANK YOU GOD🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

Late Night Update:
✅ Rejection hasn’t gotten better, BUT, it hasn’t gotten worse 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
✅ My extremities are still very swollen (had a surgeon that I saw 4 weeks ago, tell me that he saw a recognizable difference) 🤦🏾‍♀️
✅ My heart ♥️ has been ruled out as a source of swelling by my Cardiologist
✅ My P*P states I’m healthy, BUT, Transplant needs to prioritize my swelling 😐

Lessons Learned:
☑️ God has the final say ♾️
☑️ Weapons are forming yet failing ⤵️
☑️ ADVOCACY MATTERS - don’t allow yourself to be repeatedly neglected or your concerns repressed 🔝
☑️ “A setback, is a setup for a comeback” 🔜
☑️ Crown 👑 has been readjusted and it’s time to move in GRACE as I demand ACCOUNTABILITY 🤷🏾‍♀️

This is AMAZING 💚💚💚

Bobbie Shepherd, age 57, is celebrating 50 years with a donated kidney, making her one of the longest-living recipients from a deceased donor in the U.S. Her transplant took place in Cincinnati.
Shepherd has made the most of that gift of life.
“We have four kids, and we have 14 grandbabies.”
Shepherd said. She hopes to one day meet her donor’s family to thank them personally.
“I would love to meet the family, and I would tell them how grateful that I have been for this, because donation lives on,” Shepherd said. “I’ve got kids, and now I’ve got grandbabies through her legacy.” 💚
