Wee Pediatric Eyecare began in January 2020 right before the beginning of the COVID pandemic. It had been an idea Dr Lexy had for years and had not acted on for one reason or another. This year, was the year she finally decided to open her dream practice, a niche practice, that ONLY serves children ages 17 and under. Her mission began simple and took on its own life as the practice got underway. Even in the heart of the pandemic, Wee Pediatric Eyecare prospered. Dr Lexy was the solo Doctor, optician, front desk and financier of the practice for the first full year. She worked hard to build the practice frugally and then hired her first employee, Stephanie. While the practice grew, so did its reputation in the community. Neighboring towns all knew Wee as the place to take their nervous children for their first exam, the biggest selection of children’s glasses to choose from, and also for any pediatric specialty care they might need. As Wee became more well known, people would travel over an hour to visit Dr Lexy and Stephanie at Wee. It was at this point that Dr. Lexy started paying attention to her little patients likes and dislikes. She began sending out surveys with each patient form that asked questions like, ‘What's your favorite color'? ‘Do you like pattern frames or solid better?' 'square or round?'
Over the years we gathered invaluable feedback from our young customers allowing us to create a range of eyewear that combines both style and functionality. Through this research, our very own frame line, WeeEyes, was born. WeeEyes is a collection designed with the most discerning critic in mind-children! There truly is nothing out there like our office and nothing compares to our frame line. We pride ourselves on the fact that our ‘experience’ is one unique to other offices. We pride ourselves on the fact that children come to us and leave loving the eye Dr, without fear for the next exam. We pride ourselves on the fact that our special needs population grows bigger and bigger each year, with many loyal patients that ‘only behave well and have good exams’ with Dr Lexy and Stephanie at Wee. Lastly, but not least important, we pride ourselves on the fact that WeeEyes has a frame that fits every child, every concern, every feature, every disability and every lifestyle.
