It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the sudden passing of Spencer Leak Jr..
In 2019, before the challenges of COVID changed our profession and our world, Mr. Leak opened the doors of his firm to me as a student intern. He provided an opportunity to learn, grow, and witness firsthand what professionalism, leadership, and service to families truly look like.
Mr. Leak ran a tight ship. He held himself and those around him to high standards, always ensuring that the families he served received compassionate and dignified care. He was deeply committed not only to the families who entrusted him with their loved ones, but also to the employees who worked alongside him and the students he mentored along the way.
His impact extended far beyond the walls of his funeral home. Through his guidance, example, and willingness to invest in others, he helped shape the next generation of funeral service professionals.
On behalf of Pettway Funeral Service, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, colleagues, employees, and the many families whose lives he touched. His legacy of service, excellence, and mentorship will not be forgotten.
