One of the most misunderstood symptoms of dry eye is excessive watering.
When the ocular surface becomes irritated or the tear film becomes unstable, the eyes may produce reflex tears in response. The problem is that these tears often do not properly lubricate the surface of the eye.
Dry eye does not always feel “dry.”
It can also present as:
• watering
• burning
• fluctuating vision
• redness
• irritation
• tired eyes by the end of the day
