Now that I've earned my Masters in Social Work (M.S.W.), am licensed as a social worker, and a certified alcohol and drug couselor (CADC) - I want to explain a bit about the practice areas in which I specialize and mentioned a bit more about the excellet practice I'm now a part of....
My primary area of focus are individuals, couples, or families that have been affected by cooccurring disorders (an example would be an individual dealing with a major depressive disorder and also a substance use disorder), all substance use disorders, anxiety disorders, depressive diaorders, mood disorder such as bipolar disorder, and some psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder. In addition, I also work with folks that may struggle with body dysmorphia, emotional regulation, and interpersonal relationships. I want to be clear that I firmly believe that an evidence-based practice combined with a strengths-based approach is how I like to work with my clients. I believe all of my clients have the potential to take agency back in their lives, and by providing them with further compassion and resources, they can leverage that agency to live the best possible version of themselves.
Inclusive Insight Psychotherapy and Counseling is a practice that recognizes the importance of identity and intersectionality in all the work our clinicians do with clients. While we do not shy away from the reality of systemic oppression and marginalization, one of our goals is to change these power structures through the evidence and strength based approaches we take with our clients and through adovcacy conducted at all levels of our profession.
Our clinicians are as diverse as our clientele and each bring with them the tools and experience necessary to provide the best services possible, advocate for our clients that have trouble doing so themselves, push for a more equitable/just society, and ensure equal treatment for anyone contending with mental health or other issues that may be affecting how these individuals wish to live their lives.
