We are a diverse group of psychotherapists with shared beliefs. We are anti-racist. We fight oppression in all forms. We understand oppression is systematic, multi-generational, multi-cultural, international and present in our own society. We value diversity, personal integrity, professional ethics,

There is absolutely no shame in reaching out to a professional for any type of help. There should not be any stigma about it either. This practice exists to serve you and your community by allowing you to be your true self and obtain the empowerment that will make you thrive. This is one of the most important beliefs shared among Inclusive Insight Psychotherapy and Consulting (chicagoiipc.com) clinicians, myself included.

As embarassing as this may be, the name of the private practice I'm affiliatied with is Inclusive Insight Psychotherapy and Consulting. This is what happens when you rush to set up a facebook business page and let autotype fill in the name. As you can see from our logo and my webpage on the site, IIPC is a healthy company that is growing! The only reason I'm posting this and drawing attention to it is I want anyone who views the page to have the appropriate name.

While the holidays are a time of the year filled with love and excitement, this time of the season can also often be difficult for many individuals, couples, and families. Some folks are home from college or have time off from work and other responsibilities. Others do not. Families do their best to create a welcoming and festive atmosphere for their relatives, reconnecting and rediscovering the love they share with eachother.

Still, sometimes individuals also feel overwhelmed and reflection can reveal emotions, issues, or concerns that can be hard to discuss and share openly. If you or a loved one does struggle during the holidays, know that resources do exist and you do not have to contend with circumstances alone. Please reach out if you need to - professionals are on hand to assist in any way possible.

Have a lovely holiday season, and if you do need help, please reach out for it. I assure you, we'll reach back!

Now that I've earned my Masters in Social Work (M.S.W.), am licensed as a social worker, and a certified alcohol and drug couselor (CADC) - I want to explain a bit about the practice areas in which I specialize and mentioned a bit more about the excellet practice I'm now a part of....

My primary area of focus are individuals, couples, or families that have been affected by cooccurring disorders (an example would be an individual dealing with a major depressive disorder and also a substance use disorder), all substance use disorders, anxiety disorders, depressive diaorders, mood disorder such as bipolar disorder, and some psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder. In addition, I also work with folks that may struggle with body dysmorphia, emotional regulation, and interpersonal relationships. I want to be clear that I firmly believe that an evidence-based practice combined with a strengths-based approach is how I like to work with my clients. I believe all of my clients have the potential to take agency back in their lives, and by providing them with further compassion and resources, they can leverage that agency to live the best possible version of themselves.

Inclusive Insight Psychotherapy and Counseling is a practice that recognizes the importance of identity and intersectionality in all the work our clinicians do with clients. While we do not shy away from the reality of systemic oppression and marginalization, one of our goals is to change these power structures through the evidence and strength based approaches we take with our clients and through adovcacy conducted at all levels of our profession.

Our clinicians are as diverse as our clientele and each bring with them the tools and experience necessary to provide the best services possible, advocate for our clients that have trouble doing so themselves, push for a more equitable/just society, and ensure equal treatment for anyone contending with mental health or other issues that may be affecting how these individuals wish to live their lives.

If you wish to speak with a therapist, please contact me at 847-525-0136 or call our practice at 773-659-9207.
