May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to slow down and truly see one another. Mental health is part of everyday life. It shapes how we feel, how we connect, and how we move through each day.
For the consumers and communities we serve, this month is about being more present. It is about checking in, listening with intention, and responding with compassion when it matters most. Mental health touches every part of life, from relationships to stability, which is why caring for the whole person is so important.
We also recognize that mental health and substance use are often connected. Supporting both with understanding and without judgment is key to real healing and long term well being.
Stigma grows in silence, but healing begins when people feel seen, supported, and not alone.
This month, alongside SAMHSA NAMI, we stand with our community and remind everyone that you are never alone. 💚

She takes pride in the work she does and it shows in the way she connects with those she serves and the dedication she brings to her role. Barbara’s commitment to our consumers and her positive impact on our community do not go unnoticed.

This past weekend, our SMHRF network came together for the NAMI Chicago Walk. A morning dedicated to raising awareness, showing support, and walking side by side for mental health.

We’re proud to have joined hundreds of others in this incredible movement, because we believe that supporting mental health means supporting our entire community.

👏 Congratulations to the Chicago NAMI chapter for raising nearly $200,000 to continue providing hope, resources, and advocacy for all.

We traded blue for black and white for the day ⚾️🧢
Even though most of us are North Siders, we still had a ball at the White Sox game! Big thanks to the Chicago White Sox who donated the tickets — your kindness gave our crew an unforgettable day at the ballpark (and a whole lot of hot dogs).
