On Egoism:
"The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them."
"Thou didst blow with thy wind and the sea covered them, and they sank as lead in the mighty waters." Exodus 15:9-10

Just as God drowned the Egyptians in the Red Sea; the man who follows the temptations of the ego (greed, hatred, jealousy, anger, lust, power) and succumbs to sense pleasures will certainly drown in the sorrows and tide of life. Those who have faith and continue to follow the path of yoga, regardless of it's challenges, will be free from the pursuit of the ego. One will be saved from the cycle of birth and death (samsara).

"For the mind, which follows in the wake of the wandering senses, carries away his discrimination, as the wind carries away a boat on the waters". Gita 2:67

"On calm seas during good weather, a boat has smooth sailing and reaches its destination without difficulty. A boat venturing out during stormt weather will certainly be buffeted and possibly sunk. Similarly, the devotee who sails the sea of life in the good weather of spiritual habits is bound to reach easily the shores of Infinite Bliss. But the man of spiritual aspirations who navigates his life through the stormy waters of an ungoverned mind will surely be diverted from his course of good intentions, and may even lose sight completely of the Divine Polestar." Parahamsa Yogananda

"Know me, O Arjuna, as the eternal seed of all beings; I am intelligent; the splendor of the splendid objects I am. Of the strong I am the strength devoid of desire and attachment, and in all beings, I am the desire unopposed to Dharma, O Arjuna." BG 7:10 - 11

Know the Lord Himself as the source of everything, all that has been created. There is nothing that does not come from Him. The Lord is the strength within that desires freedom, liberation, love, and joy. The strength, however, that desires worldly attachments does not come from the Lord, it is only a manifestation of the mind and ignorance.

"Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: but lay yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.: Matthew 6: 19 - 21

Let go of objects of the senses and attach yourself to the lotus feet of the Lord. Worldly objects cannot bring you lasting happiness. They will bring short moments of fulfillment inevitably followed by periods of emptiness. You cannot reach the kingdom of heaven if your heart desires idolatry such as; money, cars, homes, jewelry, etc.. Rest your heart in That which will bring you eternal peace.

Hari Om Tat Sat. Shivo Ham.
That is the Truth. I AM THAT I AM.

"The only basis of true and lasting unity of all humanity is the religion of the heart. Religion of the heart is religion of Love.
One can be united (with God) only if they are free from jealousy, hatred, and petty mindedness. Purify your heart first. Meet hatred with Love, malice with good will."
