It's the season of thanks, and we'd like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of the Hand Society members! From candidate and new members just starting out in hand surgery, to retired and lifetime surgeons who have been with us their entire careers, everyone is an invaluable part of making ASSH the impactful society it is. Your support makes it possible for ASSH to continue growing, improving, and offering more to our community. Thank you!

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Perry Initiative Outreach Program at this year! Students in grades 10 and up from local Vancouver high schools participated in mock surgical exercises and heard from ASSH members about hand surgery and orthopaedics. We're so grateful to all the surgeon volunteers and hope to see some future surgeons emerge from this event!

"Teaching is in my blood. Both of my parents are educators. As a hand surgeon, one of my greatest challenges, and greatest joys, is translating the complexity of our work into clear, reproducible steps in educating the next generation." - Duretti T. Fufa, MD, Flaps Course Faculty

Hear from our wonderful volunteer faculty on why they choose to teach, inspire, and support current residents and fellows. We're grateful to everyone who steps up to educate the next generation of hand and upper extremity surgeons!

"We just did the first elbow scope in this hospital [Da Nang Hospital, Vietnam]... we were able to show them something that they could make a connection to, put it all together, and now they can do their own." - Nathan Morrell, MD, AFSH Outreach Trip Volunteer

AFSH supports volunteer hand care outreach all around the world, helping our members to pass on their knowledge in international and underserved communities. Learn more about the Outreach pillar and donate now at the link in our bio.
