Dr. Ryan Merkow is now seeing patients in Northbrook!

We’re excited to announce that board-certified surgical oncologist Ryan Merkow, MD, MS, has opened a new clinic in Northbrook, bringing his expertise in treating complex gastrointestinal cancers closer to home for patients in the northern suburbs.

Dr. Merkow offers both surgical and nonsurgical treatment options, including advanced therapies such as hepatic artery infusion pump chemotherapy, minimally invasive and robotic surgery, and liver-directed therapies like ablation.

Dr. Funmi Olopade was a co-author on a paper describing how a cellular protein, FGD3, boosts breast cancer chemotherapy and immunotherapy. Her lab provided the breast cancer patient-derived organoids for this study.
