Paul John Januszewski, "PJ", was the beloved husband of the late Maryann, and cherished father of Franciszka "Franny".

He was a dedicated bus instructor for the CTA for 41 years.

Family and friends will gather Saturday, June 6, 2026 from 9-10:00 am at St. Barbara Church, 2859 South Throop Street, Chicago, followed by a 10:00 am funeral mass. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. (773)927-6424.

Leonard J. Manka was the beloved son of the late Frank and late Sophie (nee Puk); step-son of the late Mary Catherine Manka; loving brother of Frank H. (late Therese), Barbara (Anthony) Bromboz, Linda (Kenneth ) Niedzwiedz, and late Ronald (late Marian); fond uncle and grand uncle of many nieces and nephews.

He was a life long resident of Bridgeport and an avid SOX fan. Len was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Archbishop Quigley Council #2428 LaSalle Assembly.

Visitation will be Friday, May 29, 2026 from 3-8:00 pm and Saturday, May 30th from 8:30-9:30 am at Walter Pomierski & Son Funeral Home, 1059 West 32nd Street, Chicago. A 10:00 am funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at St. Mary of Perpetual Help Church, 1039 West 32nd Street, Chicago. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Mary of Perpetual Help Preservation Fund are most appreciated.

Sandra Petrovich (née Babacz), born on March 24, 1954, in Chicago, Illinois, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026, in Brodhead, Wisconsin, after a courageous battle faced with strength and grace.

Sandra was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, cherished sister, aunt, and dear friend. Her life was defined by her generosity, compassion, and unwavering love for those around her. She had a giving heart and was always the first to offer comfort, support, and kindness to anyone in need.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Edward and Josephine Babacz, and her brother, David.

Sandra leaves behind her loving husband, Richard; her children, Richard (Christina), Matthew, and Edward; and her treasured granddaughter, Josie, who brought her immense joy and pride. She is also survived by her sister, Sheryl Sircher (John); her niece, Shannon; her nephew, John; along with many dear relatives and lifelong friends who were blessed to know and love her.

She will always be missed and forever in our hearts.

Chris A. Pienta (1954–2026)

Chris A. Pienta, age 71, passed away on May 12, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born on December 24, 1954, Chris was a lifelong resident of the Bridgeport neighborhood, where he built a life centered around family, friendship, and community.

Chris loved cheering on the Chicago White Sox and Chicago Blackhawks. To him, there was no better seat for the game than his favorite spot on the couch. He enjoyed sitting outside, talking sports with neighbors and friends, and bringing joy to others through his love of decorating for Christmas. Chris proudly decorated nearly half the block on Throop Street each holiday season.

Chris also leaves behind a lasting legacy as “Coach” to many. In his earlier years, he dedicated countless hours to coaching basketball and baseball and helping raise money for youth sports in the neighborhood. His generosity, kindness, and genuine willingness to help others will always be remembered.

Chris was the devoted husband of Catherine “Katie” Pienta (nee Marose); the loving father of Christopher (Mimi), Nicole (Michael) Calderone, and Matthew Pienta; the cherished Papa of Maizy, Lucca, and Logan; and the proud “Big Chris” to Jayden and Nikko. He was the beloved son of the late Virginia (nee Goga) and Casimir Pienta; dear brother of Maryeve (Terry) Lerner, Dennis Pienta, Russell (Donna) Pienta, and the late Clifford and Mitchell Pienta. Is survived by many nieces and nephews.

His family was the center of his world. He never missed a game, a school pickup, a holiday, or a special family event, and he took immense pride in always being present for those he loved most.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at St. Barbara Church, 2859 South Throop Street. A Mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 18, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Barbara Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that guests honor Chris by wearing their favorite sports jersey to the visitation.
