Here’s what that looks like:
✅79% of participants at risk for depression or anxiety recovered to no longer be at risk
✅67% at risk for hazardous alcohol use recovered to no longer be at risk
✅61% with high lost productivity improved, cutting lost work hours from 57.3 to 16.4/month
✅99.5% resolved concerns within the EAP, avoiding higher-cost medical care

In times of social unrest and uncertainty around the globe, it’s not uncommon to struggle with new feelings or more serious mental health challenges.

📰Current events unfolding in our communities, on our screens, or in conversations with colleagues can leave us feeling anxious, disconnected, or even unsafe. It’s called cumulative trauma—and it affects more than just our mental health. It shapes our relationships, our resilience, and how we show up in the world. That’s why it’s so important to pause and reflect on how you’re being impacted by current events.

Our Director of Training, Gracey Lichtenstein, recently recorded a timely session titled “Self-Care in the Face of Cumulative Trauma” to help employees navigate stress and uncertainty.

The session explores:

☑️Tools for reclaiming psychological safety, connection, and joy

💙June is PTSD Awareness Month.

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition triggered by experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event. While it’s commonly associated with military veterans, PTSD can affect anyone, including first responders and survivors of assault, serious accidents, or childhood trauma, among others.

According to the National Center for PTSD:
About 6% of the U.S. population will experience PTSD at some point in their lives
Women are more than twice as likely as men to develop PTSD
Anger, sleep issues, chronic pain, and other problems can be caused by trauma

💼 How can employers help?

✔️Normalize mental health conversations to help reduce stigma
✔️Offer access to trauma-informed care through EAPs or mental health benefits
✔️Train managers to recognize the signs of distress and respond with compassion
✔️Foster flexibility and psychological safety in the workplace

When organizations understand PTSD and offer access to convenient, personalized care for those affected, they create a safer and supportive work environment.

When the sun starts shining and calendars fill with vacations, benefits communication can easily take a back seat. But summer is actually a great time to re-engage your employees with meaningful moments that support their mental health and wellbeing.

Here are 4 approachable events that can help shine the spotlight on your company’s mental programs and resources.

🧘‍♂️ Host a summer self-care break
Offer a 30-minute guided mindfulness or movement session and use it as a casual reminder or introduction to your EAP’s emotional wellness tools.

📲 Run a “Did You Know?” digital series
Post short, friendly facts about your EAP on Slack, email, or digital screens. For example, “Did you know your EAP offers personalized support for parents?”

🎯 Launch a mental health and wellbeing challenge
Think walking goals, mindfulness journals, or screen-free evenings—each week can highlight a related EAP resource, such as self-care tools, coaching, or work-life services.

🌐 Host a “Know Your Benefits” miniseries
Use short, informal sessions to cover everything from mental health visits to financial consultations.
