The Maxine Williams Scholarship Fund has supported deserving medical assisting students since 1959. Named after the AAMA founder and first AAMA president, Maxine Williams, this fund is sustained entirely by private contributions from individuals who believe in the future of the profession.

In 2024, the AAMA launched the Maxine Williams Scholarship in Honor of Crystal Coleman, CMA (AAMA), a passionate leader dedicated to advancing education and credentialing for all medical assistants.

These scholarships support credentialed medical assistants who want to grow professionally while maintaining their CMA (AAMA) credential.

As we gather in the spirit of Thanksgiving, our hearts are full as we reflect on the round-table meeting that occurred earlier this month. Dedicated members of all three boards and AAMA staff met for a powerful discussion focused on charting our priorities and projects for the upcoming year. This fall planning session reminded us that when we work together—with purpose and gratitude—there’s nothing we can’t accomplish together.

We’re grateful for the collaboration, open dialogue, and shared commitment that filled the room. Happy Thanksgiving from all of us to all of you!
