🚲 Confidence Starts with Balance

Riding a bike starts with more than pedals—it starts with balance, coordination, and courage. 💛

This little rider is learning all three on a balance bike, a therapy tool we love for helping children:

✨ Strengthen core muscles & posture
✨ Build balance, coordination & motor planning
✨ Boost confidence and independence
✨ Learn through joyful, movement-based play

At Lumiere, we believe the best progress happens when children feel safe, strong, and excited to try. 🌟

💬 Has your child used a balance bike before? We’d love to hear what they’ve learned. Drop a story or moment below!  ⬇️

❓Is It Just Tiredness Or Low Muscle Tone?

If your child tires quickly, struggles with posture, or isn’t meeting physical milestones…it could be more than “just being behind.” 💡

👉 Low muscle tone (hypotonia) affects how muscles support movement, even if your child is strong.

📖 In our blog, we explore:
🔹 What low muscle tone really is (and how it differs from muscle weakness)
🔹 Common signs to look out for in infants and children
🔹 How physical and occupational therapy can help your child build coordination, strength, and independence

🏃 Early support through physical or occupational therapy can make a big difference in your child’s confidence and coordination.

✨ Lumiere Magic Moments  ✨

Sensory play isn’t just fun—it’s a powerful tool for growth. 💙

In this moment, our little preschooler is fully immersed in tactile exploration—mixing bright green and yellow paint with both hands, smearing textures across the tray and paper, and lighting up with excitement as they create!🖐️

This hands-on activity is doing so much more than making a colorful mess—it’s helping to:
✔️ Strengthen fine motor skills
✔️ Build tolerance to different textures
✔️ Improve focus and coordination
✔️ Support emotional regulation through sensory input

🎨 Try These Simple Sensory Activities at Home:
🔹  Finger painting with pudding or yogurt
🔹 Water play with cups, sponges, or toy animals
🔹 Sensory bins filled with rice, beans, or kinetic sand
🔹 Squishing playdough or shaving cream
🔹 Drawing shapes or letters with fingers in salt trays

At Lumiere, we believe every squish, swirl, and smile is a step toward growth—and we’re so proud of the confidence and joy this child is building in therapy.💛
