Envision Unlimited staff and members brought a taste of New Orleans to our Rose Center last week with an authentic Mardi Gras dinner! 🎭✨

This annual, lively event highlights our culinary arts program and celebrates our dedicated community partners. Our members are involved in the entire process, from project planning to preparing the meal and serving guests.

This year’s delicious menu included mussels, coleslaw, crawfish pie and – of course – king cake. Here are just a few of our favorite highlights!

2026 marks the start of Mark McHugh’s 12th year as our President and CEO 🎉, and he has big plans ahead to continue expanding our services to help more people in need.

“Over the past decade, we have made major progress and real systemic change for people with disabilities and mental health challenges,” Mark said. “I’m proud of all that we have accomplished. We’ll continue to make the necessary investments to create even more change, and I look forward to doing the hard work with such a dedicated team.”

February is known as the season of love, but it’s also International Boost Self-Esteem Month. 💪 If you struggle with negative feelings about yourself, health experts recommend acknowledging your feelings and reframing them positively; exercising multiple times per week; and doing something that you enjoy every day.

How did you spend Super Bowl Sunday? 🏈 Members from our Nashville Center were invited to watch the big game with neighbors at the Montrose Baptist Church! Everyone enjoyed gathering to cheer on their favorite team and share pizza, hot dogs and snacks.

But most importantly, this was a meaningful opportunity for our members to connect with their community and feel a sense of belonging.

“I’m glad I went,” our member Tommy said. “I got to meet some new people. We talked about the game and other things. I can’t wait until I see them again.” 🫶

The 2026 Winter Olympics are kicking off today! And while we can’t be in Milan, we’re celebrating our Envision Unlimited athletes here at home. 🏅

Congratulations to members from our Lewandowski Center who recently won both games at a regional basketball competition through Special Olympics Illinois! Next stop: Bloomington, Illinois for the state tournament!

Way to go, Lewandowski Center! Let’s bring home the gold! 🏆
