Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Dr. Maclin attended Kenwood High School in Hyde Park and graduated in 1977. He went on to study and earn his undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois and finished one year early in 1980. Dr. Maclin continued to study at the University of Illinois Dental School and graduated in 1984 with two degrees, Science of Dentistry and Dr. of Dental Surgery. Throughout the years, Dr. Maclin has been consistent in keeping up with his continuing education and making sure that he stays up to date on the latest developments in dental science. He is currently a member of the American Dental Association, the Chicago Dental Society, the Illinois Dental Society, the Lincoln Dental Society and the Independent Dental Organization. Dr. Maclin is the father of one adult son who is attending college. In his spare time he enjoys scuba diving and doing anything outdoors, no matter what the weather is like. Dr. Maclin has a great sense of humor, and enjoys connecting with his patients to help them feel relaxed and more at ease when they come to the office. He feels that laughter is the medicine that people need to relax at a dental practice. But at the same time, Dr. Maclin takes great measures to ensure that his patients thoroughly understand their diagnosis and treatment plans, as well as how to maintain their beautiful smiles after they leave his office.
