Following twenty-five years as the co-founder and Executive Vice President of Perspectives, Ltd., Jeff turned his focus to exclusively providing clinical services in January 2007. Prior to co-founding Perspectives in 1981, Jeff had worked on the in-patient unit of the Department of Psychiatry at Evanston Hospital, as well as at a sheltered workshop and on a crisis intervention hotline. During his tenure at Perspectives, Jeff was the Director of Clinical Services, Chair of the Clinical Quality Assurance Team, Chair of the Committee on Ethics & Law and the HIPAA Privacy Officer. He maintained a clinical case load and provided clinical supervision to numerous other clinicians. In addition, Jeff was the Employee Assistance Program Account Manager for four large employers in the Chicago metropolitan area. Jeff has lectured on a variety of topics including: Humanitarian Assistance Following Disasters, Violence in the Workplace, Fitness for Duty – Identifying and Intervening with the Impaired Employee, Civility in the Workplace, Dealing with Difficult People, Caring for Aging and Dependent Adults, Preparing for the Psychological Aspects of Retirement, Dual Career Couples, Coping With Change, Managing Stress, Sexual Dysfunction and Enrichment, Chemical Dependency, and Psychopharmacology and Brief Psychotherapy. Jeff has extensive trauma work experience. In addition to leading Critical Incident Stress Debriefings (“CISDs”) for client companies, he participated in a 35 year anniversary debriefing of victims, families and rescuers who were affected by the Our Lady of the Angels fire that took place in Chicago on December 1, 1958. Jeff has been trained by the American Red Cross in Disaster Mental Health Services. Jeff served as field work faculty for academic institutions including, the University of Chicago, the University of Illinois, Loyola University, National Lewis University and the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Jeff is a past president of the Board of Directors of Family Service & Mental Health Center of Oak Park & River Forest (now Thrive Counseling Center) and was the chair of its Professional Services Committee. Jeff has also served as an elected member and president of the Board of Education, District 90 in River Forest, Illinois. Jeff’s undergraduate degree is in Psychology from Northwestern University. His Master’s degree is in Clinical Social Work from the University of Chicago, School of Social Service Administration. Jeff is a Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work and holds a certification in addictions counseling.
