Lab with a view! The medical campus is just a mile from the loop as can be seen from Dr. Carol Podlasek’s new lab. The lab moved to the Molecular Biology Research Building in the fall and they love the new space. The building is home to many research laboratories and has a creative staircase.

The new Outpatient Surgery Center is coming along! The facility is scheduled to open Fall, 2022. It will feature six floors of patient care space that will accommodate the increasing volume and complexity of surgical care, education, and research at the University of Illinois Hospital & Clinics and its health science partners at UIC.

Yesterday, UIC and UI Health held groundbreaking for the new Outpatient Surgery Center & Specialty Clinics, a new 200,000-square-foot facility set to open in 2022.
