Women navigating PMOS — formerly known as PCOS — deserve care that looks at the full picture of their health, not just a diagnosis.

Recently, PCOS was officially renamed PMOS, which stands for Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome, to better reflect the complex hormonal and metabolic nature of the condition. The change recognizes what many patients and providers have known for years: this is not simply an ovarian condition — it is a whole-body health issue that deserves comprehensive and collaborative care.

At the heart of holistic fertility care is the belief that patients deserve support that is evidence-informed, compassionate, and individualized. That means staying grounded in current scientific research, working alongside reproductive endocrinologists, and advocating for treatment plans that address the whole person — body and mind.

For many patients, that comprehensive approach may include:
✨ Fertility-focused acupuncture
✨ Therapeutic massage and stress reduction
✨ Nutrition and metabolic health support
✨ Yoga and nervous system regulation
✨ Lifestyle and hormone balance education
✨ Collaborative reproductive care teams

Holistic care is about strengthening patient outcomes through integrative support and thoughtful condition management.

Our goal is to help patients feel empowered, informed, and cared for throughout every step of their fertility journey while ensuring they have access to the high standard of care they deserve.

Because women’s health care should never be one-dimensional.
It should be collaborative, research-driven, and patient-centered.

We’d love to hear from our community:
What are your thoughts on the change from PCOS to PMOS? Do you feel this new terminology better reflects your experience? What changes in care, education, support, or advocacy would you like to see come from this shift in women’s health?

Your voice matters and these conversations help shape more compassionate and comprehensive care for patients. 🤍

Understanding the Mental & Emotional Benefits of Yoga for Fertility 🧘‍♀️✨

When you move better, you feel better—physically and mentally. Pain, inflammation, and stress are all connected, and yoga helps reduce these while strengthening your mind-body connection. And yes—this can support your fertility journey, whether you’re trying naturally or using IUI/IVF.

✳️ Less Stress & Anxiety During TTC
Trying to conceive can feel overwhelming. And hearing “just relax” doesn’t exactly help. Yoga, on the other hand, actually works. It’s been shown to lower stress and anxiety—especially for those navigating infertility—giving your mind (and body) space to breathe.

✳️ More Mindfulness & Emotional Resilience
Yoga meets you wherever you are—TTC, pregnancy loss, pregnancy, or postpartum. It’s not just stretching—it’s learning to process emotions, release tension, and reconnect with yourself. A reminder that you are strong, capable, and grounded through every stage.

✳️ Improved Focus & Positive Mindset
Working with a fertility-focused yoga instructor can help you regain a sense of control in an uncertain journey. Through breath, movement, and guided awareness, yoga becomes a moving meditation—helping ease anxiety, lift your mood, and shift your perspective toward hope and possibility.

✨ This isn’t just feel-good talk—research supports that a consistent yoga practice can naturally reduce anxiety and depression.

Fertility care is personal—and who you feel comfortable with matters 🤍

Many women start with a female practitioner, and that trust is so important.

At the same time, some patients are surprised to find that working with a male acupuncturist or massage therapist can feel just as supportive—sometimes offering a different kind of grounding, perspective, or approach that complements their care.

In a team-based practice like ours, you don’t have to navigate this alone. You have space to find what feels right, with support from practitioners who are working together for you.

If you’ve been wanting more support in your fertility journey, you’re always welcome to reach out—we’re here to help you explore your options at your pace. Watch this video from Patrick, acupuncturist at our Chicago office to learn more.

Today marks the start of spring! The return of the balance between day and night symbolizes renewal, growth, and fertility. 🌷

Research suggests that spring may enhance fertility, including higher fertilization rates, improved embryo quality, and increased s***m health!

Why does it seem to impact fertility?

☀ When the season changes, we get more sunlight which can boost vitamin D, elevate estradiol promoting better egg development, and is associated with higher AMH levels of ovarian reserve.

🌡 We know that more moderate temperatures are generally more favorable for fertility while extreme hot or cold temperatures may have lower fertility rates.

👣 We can also see the impact of lifestyle changes in spring where people generally get outside more --- leading to increased activity, improved mood, and higher libido rates.

Therefore, we say get outside to enjoy the benefits of the extra sunshine, focus on lifestyle changes that you can control, and spend time with your partner! 👩‍❤️‍👨
