Sleep is one of the most important foundations of well-being, yet it is often overlooked. Even when I get enough hours, poor-quality sleep can leave me feeling drained. Focusing on simple, intentional habits and tools can support restorative rest and help me wake up feeling refreshed.

My favorite sleep-support products are:
▪️ Sleep mask to block light and signal the body it is time for sleep
▪️ Screen-free alarm or gentle wake light to reduce nighttime distractions
▪️ Relaxing bath or herbal tea to calm the nervous system
▪️ Weighted blanket to promote relaxation and comfort
▪️ Magnesium or calming supplements to support natural rest

Prioritizing rest helps me feel more focused, balanced, and energized. Small adjustments make a meaningful difference in how I show up each day.

Finding time to exercise can feel impossible when your schedule is packed. The good news is that movement doesn’t have to take an hour to be effective. Short, intentional micro-workouts can boost energy, improve focus, and protect your long-term health.

10-15 minute micro-workout options:
▪️ Desk-friendly stretches
▪️ Quick bodyweight circuits
▪️ Walking bursts
▪️ Active transitions

Consistency matters more than duration. Short, focused movement sessions can accumulate throughout the day, supporting energy, stress resilience, and overall wellness.

Memorial Day gatherings are a great opportunity to enjoy simple, nourishing meals that support energy and balance. Grilled chicken and vegetable skewers offer a practical way to combine lean protein, fiber, and seasonal produce in one dish.

Ingredients:
▪️ 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into cubes
▪️ 1 zucchini, sliced
▪️ 1 red bell pepper, chopped
▪️ 1 yellow bell pepper, chopped
▪️ 1 red onion, cut into chunks
▪️ 2 tbsp olive oil
▪️ 1 tbsp lemon juice
▪️ 2 cloves garlic, minced
▪️ Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:
In a bowl, combine olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and pepper.
Add chicken and vegetables, tossing to coat evenly.
Thread onto skewers, alternating chicken and vegetables.
Grill over medium heat for 10 to 12 minutes, turning occasionally, until chicken is fully cooked.

Why it works:
▪️ Lean protein supports sustained energy and muscle health
▪️ Colorful vegetables provide antioxidants and fiber
▪️ Simple preparation makes it easy to maintain healthy habits in social settings

Balanced meals do not need to be complicated. Focusing on whole, nutrient-dense ingredients can help you feel energized and well throughout the holiday and beyond.

Wellness coaching is not one-size-fits-all. It is a tailored, practical approach to helping professionals improve focus, strengthen boundaries, and build resilience so they can perform at their best while protecting their well-being.

Through customized seminars, workshops, and ongoing programs, I work with organizations to address the full spectrum of employee wellness. This includes stress management, sleep, nutrition, mindfulness, physical activity, and healthy workplace relationships. Each program is designed to fit your team’s culture, goals, and needs.

The result is a workforce that feels supported, energized, and equipped with actionable strategies to reduce stress, maintain balance, and thrive in high-pressure environments.

Had a great conversation with my friend Charla Stevens, whom I met through the ABA Attorney Mental Health and Wellness Committee, about wellness in the legal profession and the importance of creating sustainable habits in high-pressure careers.

We covered everything from burnout and boundaries to leadership and realistic strategies that support long-term well-being.

Long travel days can disrupt your routine, energy, and focus. A small, intentional wellness kit can help you stay grounded and support your well-being while on the go.

What to include:
▪️ Reusable water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day
▪️ Healthy snacks to maintain steady energy
▪️ Sleep mask or neck pillow to support rest and recovery
▪️ Magnesium or calming tea to help manage stress and promote relaxation
▪️ Journal for reflection and mental clarity

Wellness does not pause when you travel. A few thoughtful items can help you stay consistent, feel more balanced, and arrive with greater energy and focus.

Self-care is not just about temporary relief. It is about creating habits that support long-term well-being, resilience, and performance.

One framework I often come back to is TULIPS, a simple reminder that wellness is multidimensional:

▪️ Time: Create space for rest and reflection
▪️ Understanding: Practice self-awareness and self-compassion
▪️ Love: Invest in supportive relationships
▪️ Introspection: Slow down and check in with yourself
▪️ Physical Health: Prioritize sleep, movement, and nutrition
▪️ Spirituality: Stay connected to purpose and meaning

When stress levels rise, these are often the first areas we neglect, even though they are the very things that help us stay grounded, focused, and resilient.

As the season shifts, it is an opportunity to reset your routines and refocus on what supports your energy, clarity, and overall well-being. Wellness does not need to be complicated. It starts with a few core habits practiced consistently.

Focus on these four pillars this summer:
▪️ Movement: Prioritize daily movement, whether it is walking, stretching, or structured exercise
▪️ Nutrition: Choose seasonal, whole foods that support energy, hydration, and digestion
▪️ Stress Management: Build in small moments to pause, breathe, and reset throughout your day
▪️ Sleep and Recovery: Protect your sleep routine to support focus, mood, and long-term health

When these pillars are in place, everything else becomes more manageable. Small, consistent choices can help you feel more energized, focused, and balanced all season long.
