Yesterday, we talked about understanding our responses. Today, let's talk about the power in our choices.

This journey of "re-patterning" isn't about becoming a perfect person who never feels fear or anxiety. It's about becoming a person who knows how to hold their own hand when they do.

Every time you pause before reacting, every time you take a deep breath, every time you offer yourself a word of kindness instead of criticism—you are practicing. You are taking your power back.

This is what building a new, safer path looks like. It’s not one giant leap; it's a thousand small, courageous steps. We see you taking them, and we are in awe of your strength.

Our doors and hearts are open to individuals facing mental health challenges. The MBIC Clubhouse is a community built on support, understanding, and acceptance. If you are looking for a safe space to land, to grow, and to connect, we’re here.

They aren't a distraction. They're the little bits of air you get.

You're allowed to laugh, even on the hard days. Let the good moments be a place to rest.

We're reaching out with an update on our fundraiser to keep MBIC a vital resource for our community. Our goal is $11,000, and while we've made progress, we're still far from reaching it.

Your support is crucial to ensure we can continue to provide essential services and keep our doors open for those who need us most.

Your donation plays a critical role in:

💚 Providing vital therapy sessions for our members on their recovery journey.
💚 Supporting the essential administrative functions that keep our clubhouse running smoothly.
💚 Ensuring our members have access to meals during our program outings and activities.

Here’s a glimpse of how your support made a difference just this week:

♥ Members were able to participate in crucial therapy sessions.
♥ We ensured the smooth operation of our administrative tasks, allowing us to focus on our members.
♥ Our members enjoyed meals and snacks during their community outings.
Every dollar brings us closer to our goal and allows us to continue providing this essential support.

Please consider making a donation today through the link in our story. Your help is essential in keeping our doors open and our vital services running. Thank you for being a part of the MBIC family! ❤️

This week's community restaurant outings were a fantastic opportunity for applied therapy! Here’s a closer look at the specific areas we focused on:

🍽️ Occupational Therapy Skills:

➡ Table etiquette: Practicing utensil use, posture, and how to handle food appropriately.
➡ Community navigation: Building awareness of surroundings and moving suitably in a public space.
➡ Self-regulation: Working on managing responses and behavior in social environments.

🗣️ Speech & Communication Practice:

➡ Ordering food: Clearly stating choices and preferences.
➡ Polite conversation: Engaging appropriately with staff and fellow members.
➡ Asking for help: Requesting clarification or assistance when needed.

🧠 Cognitive & Memory Support:

➡ Recall: Remembering what they ordered or the name of the restaurant.
➡ Problem-solving: Identifying what to do in an emergency (e.g., using phone tools to note locations).

😊 Social-Emotional Development:

➡ Social cues: Understanding personal space and appropriate voice volume.
➡ Group dynamics: Practicing taking turns and respecting a group setting.
➡ Confidence: Gaining self-assurance in public and social interactions.

These outings provided invaluable real-world practice, and our members also enjoyed the simple joys of inclusion, trying new things, and navigating a public space with dignity. We’re so proud of their engagement!

Your support helps us make these enriching experiences possible all year long. Thank you!
