Chicago Asthma Consortium is the only local coalition dedicated to improving the lives of those with asthma in the Chicago area.

Chicago Asthma Consortium is a coalition of medical and public health professionals, business leaders, government agencies, community organizations and individuals dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with asthma through advocacy, education and collaboration. It is one of the largest and oldest asthma coalitions in the country.

We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Matt Siemer, President of the Chicago Asthma Consortium Board of Directors.

For more than a decade, Matt was a visionary leader, advocate, and mentor who brought compassion, structure, and a client-centered public health perspective to our work. Under his leadership, CAC expanded its impact, strengthened its resources, and supported hundreds of individuals living with asthma across Chicagoland.

Matt’s passion, authenticity, and commitment to our mission will be profoundly missed. We honor his legacy by continuing to advocate for people living with asthma, and we hold his family in our thoughts during this difficult time.

The Chicago Asthma Consortium was well-represented at this year’s CHEST Annual Conference, where our President Matt Siemer and Executive Director Rachelle Paul-Brutus, MPH, joined clinicians, researchers, and public health experts from across the country to advance the conversation around asthma care and respiratory health.

We’re energized by the collaboration, the research, and the shared commitment to improving outcomes for individuals living with asthma. Thank you to CHEST for creating a space that fosters learning, connection, and action.
