Ever since I first discovered there was a  “such thing” as a hot chocolate run… I’ve wanted to participate. As an independent contractor life kept me busy and out of the loop; until last year 2022. Engaged in an environment of like minded people, I was privy to a heads up on the 2023 registration. I signed up to walk the in November of 2022. Only God could have known that 2023 would be my divine year to participate as I lost my mom to “terminal renal failure” 11 days before the race. I mean, who could resist the reward of chocolate, . Surely not me, I got it honestly. My mother was a sweetie with a sweet tooth; I know she was with me cheering me on from above. When I received my bib number 070122 it was confirmed that my mother Leatrice has my back from above as her birthday is 07/22. I dedicate my first to her honor and memory. She loved hot chocolate and she loved me. I am her hot chocolate with whipped cream for sure. Thank you momma for all you have done for me and the kids. May you rest in paradise until I see you again. . S/O to my longtime friend and her son for joining the walk with me. I will surely do this again…this now off my bucket list…and will now become apart of my new found family tradition for myself and my children and any other loved ones who’d like to participate in future hot chocolate runs ®️
