To address inflammation in your body, you need to understand the root cause of your symptoms.

Lasting wellness starts with gut health. By prioritizing nutrition, you’re building a stronger immune defense to fight infections and fortifying your gut microbiome.

Here’s what you should do to improve your eating habits ⤵️

🧁Cut out ultra-processed foods: Red dye #3 might have been banned by the FDA, but there are still hundreds of other harmful additives in ultra-processed foods to be aware of. The easiest solution? Consider removing all of those options from your pantry. Linked to high inflammation levels and a laundry list of health conditions, these foods provide little– if any nutritional value.

🥒Add more whole foods: Prioritizing quality nutrition is the key to sustaining your wellness. Packed with essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, a balanced plate of fruits and vegetables has countless health benefits.

🌟But don’t forget the 80/20 rule. Your wellness is all about finding a balance. Stock your kitchen with healthy options, and you can enjoy a dinner out with your loved ones, too.

In 2025, you can’t escape daily toxin exposure—but you can minimize the negative effects.

Getting your body to detox is one of the keys to lasting health. Here are the 3 tips you should know ⤵️

1️⃣ Reduce Exposure: Start by creating a safe home environment and finding healthier alternatives to toxic products. Opt for filtered drinking water and air filtration systems (we use the molekule in our home and our offices) while skipping products with long, hard to understand, ingredient lists.

2️⃣ Flush it Out: Living in an inherently toxic world means completely avoiding exposure to toxins is almost impossible. To detox, it’s time to start sweating. From saunas to exercise, there are countless options to unclog the drain of your detox pathways!

3️⃣ Bind It Up: Bind up the toxins in your system with binders. Binders act as sponges in your system to flush out those toxins.

What questions do you have about the detox process?

YOU, my friend, as a disco ball! This quote popped up on Instagram and I thought it was the perfect embodiment of why has a bright, sparkly disco ball that hangs right in the middle of the office. We use it to celebrate every win- large or small 🪩 Even if you feel broken- remember, all of your pieces come together to create one amazing human 😊

What does my average breakfast look like? It’s not fancy- and it’s something you can easily recreate at home!

This morning I had full-fat, plain Icelandic yogurt, granola, and frozen organic blueberries we picked this summer :)

At the 2023 ILADS Annual Scientific Conference in Boston with Magda! I had to pleasure of moderating the afternoon yesterday, and have heard fascinating presentations on Long COVID, tick borne illness and cancer. I am honored to serve on their board and help to educate the next generation of lyme-literate clinicians 🧬

With my incredibly hectic schedule- meal prep is a must in the Kelley household! I like to try to include as many fresh, organic veggies as I can so that I don’t have to give it a second thought throughout the week.

My pro tip- try to include vegetables that are a little bit heartier and will last in your fridge throughout the week! Toss them with different homemade dressing, acidic juices and oils. Make different proteins, if you’re able, to toss in to prevent boredom.

If you have any meal prep tips- would love to hear!

🪩 I wanted to take a second to share this post in the hopes that it gives other patients hope- thank you, , for your beautiful words! I am so lucky to share so many “disco call” moments with every one of my patients! Read Rebecca’s words- below!

🪩I’M A DISCO BALL!!! 🪩

Friday I met with my Lyme Doctor to go over my labs. It’s been 3 years since the onset of Lyme Disease and over 2 years since my official diagnosis and start of treatment.

🥳 And I’m thrilled to report I am illness/disease free!

👩🏼‍⚕️ refers to her patients who make a full recovery as *disco balls*… cue Kool & The Gang, let’s celebrate! 🥳

I feel massive gratitude towards Dr. Kelley, and the whole team at

Couldn’t have gotten here without the care, support, love and healing intentions of my entire healing team, friends and family. Too many of you to name… but please know I recovered because YOU were a part of this healing journey. Because you believed and helped.

Also will credit my intuition/soul for guiding me the whole way and helping me make wise (albeit sometimes extreme or unconventional choices).

If you see me filled with joy, it’s because I feel I was given another lease on life. I’m not the same as before… and I’m at peace with that.

💪🏽Still have to rebalance and strengthen my immune system and gut (both took a big hit fighting this off), but happy to do so and resume my life’s work and what brings me joy!

A few beliefs that helped me along the way:
🫶🏽Healing is always possible!
🫶🏽Healing is non linear
🫶🏽It’s ok to let others take care of you and things for awhile
🫶🏽The body knows how to heal itself, if we give it the right conditions it’ll do so
🫶🏽 Miracles happen everyday

Back in 2020, we opened the doors to in Chicago- one of my lifelong dreams and proudest accomplishments! If you’ve ever been to the office, you know that a disco ball hangs smack in the middle of it. That’s because with every patient success- whether it’s in the middle of their journey or at the end of their healing journey- we drop the disco ball and celebrate them 🕺🏻🪩=

Happy National nonprofit day! 🎉 I wanted to share a little bit about one of the most impactful nonprofits I work with- .lyme ! I serve on ILADS Board of Directors as their treasurer- and what an honor it is.

ILADS is a nonprofit, international, multidisciplinary medical society dedicated to the appropriate diagnosis and treatment of Lyme and associated diseases. ILADS promotes understanding of Lyme and associated diseases through research, education and policy. We strongly support physicians, scientists, researchers and other healthcare professionals dedicated to advancing the standard of care for Lyme and associated diseases.

To my fellow physicians and healthcare professionals- ILADS is a wonderful membership based community, and offers courses for CME credit. To fellow Lyme warriors- ILADS is a wonderful resource.

Anxiety and chronic illness- they go hand in hand. Many of my patients that step into my office for the first time tell me that when they started experiencing their first physical symptoms, anxiety was paired with it.

Symptoms of anxiety greatly depend on the individual, and can look different for everyone. If your anxiety feels inadequate to the situation and it is present most days, it’s worth checking in with your doctor.

If you’re experiencing anxiety- you aren’t alone. There is no shame. As your MD, we are here to help

When I sit down with my patients, I often hear them convey that their friends and family say- “you are so strong!” While this is a supportive statement, I know, and they know- that they have no choice to be strong. I am so proud of my patients for choosing to fight for their health every single day.

To my patients and member of the lyme community- I see you, I believe you- and we will get through this together. Beautiful art by 🌼

Lyme disease and mental health can be intricately interwoven. ILADS (I am lucky enough to serve on their board!) lists “Psychiatric symptoms: anxiety, depression, irritability, psychosis, and more” as a sign and symptom of Lyme disease and I wholeheartedly agree based off of what I see in my patients almost every single day in my practice.

If a loved one with Lyme, other tick borne infections, or an individual who has had a tick bite- suddenly displays anxiety, depression, mood swings, psychosis- or other psychiatric symptoms- seek help and find a LLMD that can accurately and appropriately diagnose and/or help alleviate symptoms with treatment.

If you have experienced psychiatric lyme symptoms, you are not alone. We are here for you!
