Imagine needing life-saving HIV medication, but having no health insurance. That's the reality for many on the south side, and it's why I'm walking. This year the AIDS walk is Sunday September 27th. The great news is that when you donate to our AIDS walk team, 90% of your gift directly provides essential medications and care for patients who would otherwise go without.
As the Medical Director of an HIV Care Program on the south side, I am reaching out to ask for your support. Our program provides critical medications and care for patients who do not have health insurance. With looming cuts in Medicaid and other funding, grassroots fundraising efforts like ours are more vital than ever to continue serving our community. Until healthcare is fixed for everyone, your generosity is their lifeline. Please give generously today.
Good News! There is now a category for Virtual Walker "at your own pace". You can sign up and sit on the couch, I mean, socially distant for only $10, and we have a target of 30 'walkers' so it counts. You can also show up in person at Soldier field, or download the RunGo smartphone app and do your own 5K-- or just sponsor me and I will walk for you. The main thing is to raise money for this fight. Please sponsor me or join our team (so the donations go to our clinic). We need both walkers and donors! I know that you get fundraising pleas every day, but the large funders are cutting back too, so we have to raise more money this way.
Donations will be accepted until October 30th. Every contribution, no matter the size, directly impacts the lives of our patients.

Thank you for your consideration and support.
Love always wins! Show your pride for our team, for our colleagues in this work, for Chicago and Illinois! Walk, run, volunteer and donate! Let's end the HIV epidemic in Illinois by 2030!
