Our Inpatient Unit in Santa Ana, recently celebrated two years of compassionate care with a casino-themed anniversary filled with card games, laughter, and a deep sense of shared purpose. 💜

This event was a time to reflect on the impact of our care, honor the families we’ve served, and show deep gratitude to the many hands and hearts who help us do what we do. 👏

Physicians, case managers, social workers, and other healthcare professionals came together, demonstrating the true teamwork behind .

After decades as a firefighter, Jim Forrester faced late-stage cancer with courage and chose hospice care with to spend his final months in comfort and dignity. 💜

Supported by his interdisciplinary care team, Jim embraced life’s simple joys: bike rides through town, holiday movies, and meaningful time with family.

His wife, Debbie, shared that the months he spent with VITAS were filled with joy—moments they’ll cherish forever. Her only regret was not choosing sooner.

Jim Forrester, a retired firefighter, was diagnosed with late-stage skin cancer and experienced severe, debilitating pain during treatment. He was able to enjoy life again once he entered hospice care.

We gathered in love and remembrance at our Fort Worth Inpatient Unit to honor Alford Pelton, a cherished Fort Worth resident, biomedical engineer, and inspiring author whose faith-filled words brought comfort to so many.

We are proud to carry his legacy forward through the dedication of the Alford Pelton Library. Two libraries will now stand in his honor, welcoming donated books that offer peace, comfort, and strength to families navigating life’s most tender moments.

As part of the tribute, we held a butterfly release in our memorial garden—a gentle reminder that while we say goodbye, love continues to surround us in new and meaningful ways.🦋

Mr. Pelton lived a life deeply rooted in faith and was devoted to uplifting others. Through these spaces of reflection and hope, his spirit and legacy will continue to touch hearts. 💜

We extend our deepest gratitude to the Pelton family, our community leaders, and everyone who helped bring this meaningful tribute to life.
