It was an honor to be asked by my colleagues to write the foreward to their textbook on pre pectoral breast reconstruction📝.

Writing has always been a part of my life✍🏻:

A reflection of a love of reading and books 📚 early on... then as a college and grad student studying modern poetry and English literature ... and now as an academic engaged in scientific discourse🩺.

I think in this age of blurringly fast back-and-forth of online information 💻(and the stoking of instant gratification) we need to stay loyal to the basic principles of reading and writing. We need to slow down our lives now and then and pick up a book 📖and open ourselves into the worlds of words and wonder...✨💗
