Sherry Jeaneen Culumber has a love of the color “puke green” (as her kids call it) and boasts about winning the Hot Rod of the Month title as a first-year teacher with her green with black racing stripes 1973 Barracuda. She resides in Central Illinois, where she was born and raised. She left the area only for short stents of travel to Spain, the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico, and Australia. She is a retired Spanish and English teacher of 33 years.
Sherry is the mother of three living children and continues to grieve the loss of her twins, born prematurely at 26 weeks in 1980. She is also the PROUD grandma of five kids that can do no wrong! Sherry lives for spending time with her family, attending her grandkids activities and sporting events, watching Sci-Fi movies and doing arts and crafts. If you visit Sherry, you will be able to admire a few of her collections, namely angels, koalas, and Santa Fe style deco. Her children will tell you that her one true passion in life is the musical group Il Divo.
Everyone who knows Sherry will tell you about her kind and giving spirit, describing her as the nicest and most genuine person they know. She is a huge supporter of St. Jude’s Miracle Network and is also a child sponsor to a sweet boy, named Garvens, in Haiti. Don’t let her sweetness fool you though; she has a quick wit and can joke around with the best of them! Sherry was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease when she was 22 and now has Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis, which often plagues Crohn’s patients. The PSC causes her liver to fail over time, and after living with PSC for 21 years she has reached the point of needing a transplant.
