Did you know that 75-86% of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch comes from the fishing industry? (including fishing nets and ropes, buoys, buckets, and crates)
"When we think about using less plastic, things that come to mind are ditching reusable water bottles and choosing paper or reusable bags. But dropping fish from your diet is another way to keep plastic out of the environment. Commercial fishing contributes to climate change in other ways, too, most notably through bottom trawling which disturbs the seabed and releases carbon into the atmosphere."
