Pancreatic cancer typically starts in the exocrine cells, which help break down food. However, there's a less common form that begins in the endocrine cells, which produce hormones. It's crucial to ask your doctor about the type of pancreatic cancer you have and discuss the available treatment options.

Dr. Alex Muir’s team at UChicago Medicine is advancing pancreatic cancer detection by studying biomarkers in lymphatic and interstitial fluid—a promising, less-invasive pathway for earlier diagnosis. Research like this shows why Rolfe seed grants are critical for breakthroughs, and your support makes progress like this possible. 💜
