Rolfe Pancreatic Cancer Foundation

Rolfe Pancreatic Cancer Foundation Pancreatic cancer is the 4th leading cause of cancer related deaths in the United States.

Rolfe Pancreatic Cancer Foundation is dedicated to providing personal support to those affected by pancreatic cancer through tailored resources, connections and education, and funding for early detection research. Over 43,000 Americans are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer each year and sadly, only 4% will survive five years. Yet in 2010, the National Cancer Institute allocated only 2% of its funding to pancreatic cancer research.

What if a routine blood test could help catch pancreatic cancer earlier—with greater accuracy?

In recognition of National Cancer Research Month, we’re highlighting research that is helping move early detection forward. 🚀

Dr. Michael Goggins, at Johns Hopkins Medicine, is conducting research on how CA19-9 is used, one of the few available blood markers associated with pancreatic cancer—work Rolfe Foundation has helped advance.

His work is helping to:
✨ Improve accuracy by reducing false positives
✨ Enhance screening approaches for high-risk patients
✨ Increase the chances of detecting cancers at earlier, more treatable stages

Fewer unnecessary scares. More chances to act early.

This work continues to grow—and may help shape how pancreatic cancer is detected in the future.

Recent national media coverage of daraxonrasib, a promising new therapy for metastatic pancreatic cancer, is bringing long-overdue attention to the urgent need for better treatment options and continued research.

Just a month ago, we shared early updates about this therapy—and already, we’re seeing meaningful momentum build. In Phase III clinical trials, the treatment nearly doubled median overall survival compared to standard chemotherapy. In response to this progress and growing attention, the FDA recently authorized expanded access ahead of full approval, allowing eligible patients to access the treatment while the review process continues.

This kind of visibility matters. It reflects years of advocacy, research, fundraising, and patients courageously sharing their stories—each voice helping move progress forward. 💜

If you or a loved one has questions or needs support navigating treatment options, our team is here to help.
