The Video Interaction Project seeks current and former smokers for a paid research study examining how participating in common tasks, such as viewing videos, impacts mood and behavior.

Dr. Andrea King, smoking cessation expert and director of the Clinical Addictions Research Laboratory, developed the Courage to Quit program at UChicago in partnership with the Respiratory Health Association.

Quitting smoking is not easy, but you don't have to tough it out 'cold turkey'. The Chicago STOP Smoking Research Project (C-STOP) utilizes several methods (ni****ne patches, stop smoking medication, 1:1 counseling) to help smokers who drink alcohol on a regular basis quit.

If the average cigarette takes 6 minutes to smoke, someone who smokes 10 ci******es/day spends about 1 hour a day smoking ci******es. This ends up as ~7 hours per week, ~30 hours per month, and ~15 days out of a year!
