‼️We need to talk ‼️

Earlier this week we asked this question:
“When was the last time you accepted help from someone that offered support?”

There were many responses and a lot of meaningful conversation in the comments.
We want to address the sisters that are having a hard time asking for help, don’t expect to be offered help and feel they have no support.

Here in the TBG Community we have so many discussions about mental wellness, self care, boundaries and taking up space. Sis , you are worthy of asserting your needs and being in spaces that support you the way you support others. If it’s your romantic relationship , work, friendships or with family … you deserve for you needs AND wants to be considered. You deserve help when you need it and you’re worthy of allowing others to support you , because you’re human.

In the comments we will share some podcast sessions and resources for you to dig deeper on your journey to “Shed Your SuperWoman Status”.

One clear pattern in human beings is we run from how we feel. We can’t tolerate not feeling good. And when we don’t feel good we think something is wrong with us.

We believe we’re always supposed to thrive and be “on.” So we all put on a collective facade. This leaves people feeling even more alone.

The mental health world tells people grief and periods of sadness are disorders not natural experiences.

The spiritual world tells people to bypass— to avoid “dark” emotions or wounds.

The self help world says mindset is everything and don’t even think about anything that isn’t 100% “good.”

The optimization world says that through discipline and control, uncomfortable feelings won’t exist.

We’re all trying to run from something.

What if we were just honest. What if we accepted when we felt less then. When we felt down. When we were in periods of isolation.

Human beings are seasonal.

There’s darkness before the dawn.

There are ups and downs.

There’s joy and deep heart breaking sadness.

The human experience is better when we accept that we are in fact, human.

As we navigate life’s disappointments and heartaches, it can cause us to build an emotional wall to try to protect ourselves from being hurt again. Raw emotions are intimidating to unpack when you’re guarded. It forces you to get real with yourself by addressing both the good and bad emotions you face.
