The latest issue of Nurse Leader highlights how the AONL–American Hospital Association Learning Community has become a powerful forum for nurse leaders to shape the future of care.

What began as a space to navigate the complexities of virtual nursing has evolved into a nationwide engine for co‑creating solutions that reduce stress, support retention and foster joy in practice. https://www.nurseleader.com/article/S1541-4612(25)00293-9/fulltext

An op ed from the Tri Council for Nursing presidents was featured this week in Becker’s Hospital Review.

The presidents highlight a critical concern: restricting access to federal post baccalaureate loans for nurses will worsen workforce challenges and jeopardize patient care. Advanced nursing education is essential to a strong, stable health care system.

Your voice is needed. Submit your public comment by March 2 on Regulations.gov.
Tell the U.S. Department of Education to explicitly include post baccalaureate nursing degree programs — the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), and Ph.D. in Nursing — within the definition of “professional degree” programs.

Limiting loans nurses will receive reduces federal aid for graduate nursing education, worsening the U.S. health care workforce shortage by 2028.

🚨 Is your team still accepting the status quo in vascular access?

Traditional needle-based practices create hidden burdens—patient discomfort, workflow delays, complications, and major costs.

📘 The Roadmap for Modernizing Vascular Access Procedures [Sponsored] shows how nurse leaders can drive change with:
✔ Specialized care models
✔ Innovative tech like the BD PIVO™ Pro Needle-free Blood Collection Device

The is proud to partner with AvaSure whose long‑term support helps advance our mission to strengthen and elevate nurse leadership across the country. 💙

On February 10, leaders from AvaSure and the AONL Foundation came together in Cleveland to host a regional discussion with nurse leaders about the future of virtual nursing care models.

It was an inspiring conversation! Participants talked about:
✨ The importance of engaging nurse leaders early in virtual care planning
✨ Preparing for the future of care—not just today’s challenges
✨ Building shared language to define and celebrate outcomes

A heartfelt thank‑you to Claire Zangerle, CEO of AONL and President of the AONL Foundation, for helping create space for such a meaningful and forward‑looking dialogue.

Together, we’re supporting innovation and empowering nurse leaders nationwide.
