We meet the first Saturday of every month at 1:00 P.M. The location is 5820 West Chicago Avenue

🎬✨ Chicago, get ready! We’re rolling out the red carpet for Robert Townsend’s Pop Up Film Festival — a two day celebration of film, comedy, culture, and community power!

Join us December 6–7, 2025 for screenings, a comedy show, and a Bid Whist tournament — all in support of the NAACP Chicago Westside Branch and The Answer Inc., Autism Awareness and Support Agency.

This festival is more than entertainment. It’s a call to action, a gathering for purpose, and a reminder that — in the words of Robert Townsend — “In these challenging times, we must band together to fight for human rights.”

💔 It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Secretary, Carolyn Hankins-Page.

Carolyn was a fierce advocate, a devoted Life Member of the NAACP, and a shining example of servant leadership. She served passionately as our ACT-SO Chair, uplifting countless youth to reach their fullest potential. Beyond the Branch, Carolyn’s impact extended through her leadership in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, her service in Top Ladies of Distinction, and her incredible spirit as a dedicated fitness enthusiast who competed in numerous races with unwavering determination.

Carolyn embodied dedication, commitment, and loyalty in all that she did. Her tenacious spirit, radiant smile, and genuine heart touched everyone who had the honor of knowing her.

We will miss her dearly, but her legacy of service and love for community will live on through the many lives she inspired. 💐

We’re especially grateful to the Collins Academy STEAM high school for opening its doors and allowing us to host this important dialogue in such a welcoming space. 🙏🏾

A special thank you to Congressman Danny K. Davis, our Criminal Justice Committee Chair, Carlton Mayers esq, the dedicated attorney from the Westside Justice Center, Charice Walker, and the Chicago Police Department Captain Jim who joined us in meaningful conversation and shared valuable insights.

This is the first of our Know Your Rights series. Together, we’re laying the foundation for deeper trust, transparency, and transformation across our communities.
