Each year, more than 150,000 people are diagnosed with colorectal cancer, which is the No. 1 cause of cancer-related death in adults under age 50.
Northwestern Medicine has increased colorectal cancer screening rates by 20% over the past six years. We’re proud to report that 78.2% of our patients ages 45 to 75 are up to date on screenings. This is well above the national average of 70%.
We’ve worked hard to improve colonoscopy access and decrease wait times for this important procedure.
