It was a beautiful reminder that connection - to each other, to purpose, and to community - is essential to healthy aging. We’re deeply thankful for this community’s friendship and continued support of Erie’s mission and the belief that healthcare is a human right for all.

Last Wednesday, our Patient Programs team members (case management, reproductive child health promoters, and social drivers of health) attended a presentation put on by our community partner, Mano a Mano Family Resource Center.

Mano a Mano offers a variety of resources and services, including health resources, educational classes and workshops, and immigration legal services. Its focus is on helping the hardest-to-reach and most vulnerable families and individuals in the community.

Today is National Mammography Day!

A mammogram is an X-ray of the breast. For many women, are the best way to find breast cancer early, when it is easier to treat and before it is big enough to feel or cause symptoms. Having regular mammograms can lower the risk of dying from breast cancer.

At this time, a mammogram is the best way to find breast cancer for most women of screening age!

On October 11th, from 9:00am to 12:00pm, Garfield Park Community Council will host the Community Walk for Breast Cancer Awareness alongside ambassadors Porchia and Akinyele, who will be leading this walk through our Garfield Park community to raise awareness and spur action for breast cancer. Please join us, beginning at Beidler Elementary School and concluding with a celebration of survivors and a time for remembrance of those lost at the Garfield Park Neighborhood Market at The Hatchery.
