Curious about the new temple filler approvals you may have seen in the news lately? Thoughtful temple rejuvenation can help restore a softer, rounder upper face for people who are starting to notice hollowness in this area. It is often considered by those who are not ready for surgery but are interested in subtle volume restoration.

In this video, I share how careful anatomical mapping guides every injection, especially near the temples, a complex and high‑risk area. As a dermatologic surgeon who teaches colleagues and trainees, I place a strong emphasis on anatomy and evidence-based technique so that temple filler can be approached as safely and conservatively as possible.

If you don’t know me, or are new to my page, welcome! I’m a cosmetic dermatologist, triple board-certified in Dermatology, Mohs Micrographic Surgery, and Dermatopathology. I use my surgical and aesthetic training to create refreshing, natural, and beautiful results using minimally invasive techniques.

This patient had such an incredible outcome that even her own father, who she said never comments on her appearance, told her how beautiful she is! To me, that is a home run!

For this patient, I used a combination approach using minimally invasive techniques to achieve our goals:
✅ clear acne
✅ sculpt the jawline
✅ volumize the triangle of youth
✅ tighten the skin of the neck and jowl
✅ optimize skin texture and tone

This was a culmination of surgical skills, laser, radiofrequency, and classical dermatological medicine and skincare.

Rubbing alcohol on your face might seem like a quick fix for oily skin… but that doesn’t mean it’s the right one 👀

Yes, it removes oil. Dermatologists even use it before procedures to cleanse the skin. But using it daily can be way too harsh and may throw your skin barrier off balance.

If you’re struggling with oil, there are much better options like a gentle cleanser, salicylic acid pads, or even adapalene for long-term control.

Let’s talk about how to support oily skin in a safer, more sustainable way — especially in the hot, humid Chicago summers! Although rubbing alcohol can temporarily remove oil, it is not usually a go-to option for daily skincare. Gentle, consistent care tends to be kinder to your skin barrier over time.

Share this with someone who is always fighting oily skin, and drop your skincare questions in the comments!

Boxcar scars are caused by inflammation that damages collagen deep in the skin. That means surface-level products alone usually aren’t enough to smooth them out.

The good news? You’re not stuck with them. ✨

Combination treatments, including laser resurfacing and chemical peels, can help improve texture and stimulate collagen.

Boxcar scars are caused by widespread inflammation that damages the collagen and skin, resulting in broader, boxy depressions.

One of the most effective solutions is a combination treatment designed to smooth the skin and improve texture, including laser resurfacing and chemical peels.

Acne scarring affects all skin types, and there is never a one-size-fits-all solution. This patient is of South Asian descent and has a darker skin tone. This does not exclude her from any lasers in my practice, but we do need to be cautious about pre- and post-treatment skincare and limit sun exposure after treatments. In this case, I used a series of radiofrequency needling sessions combined with poly-L-lactic acid to stimulate collagen. I also used surgical subcision to lift the deep scarring. She had a great outcome after just two sessions! I can't wait to see how much more improved she is after her third treatment! By now, you guys know that I love combination therapy, right?

You’re probably popping pimples WRONG 😳

Not all pimples are the same.
Not everything inside them is pus.
And that “pop” you love? It can actually damage your skin.
