Our residents don't have to wait for the weekend to let their hair down...They have started their mid-week enjoying Happy Hour, beautiful weather and oldie but goodie music all while relaxing in the courtyard area!

The Life Style Specialist also brought in her Harley motorcycle for them to behold & snap some pics...Isn't it a beauty!

Love was in the air and definitely in full display on Valentine's Day. The staff set up their private dining room for a double date lunch with their married couple of 65 years Mr. James Gladney and Mrs. MaryAnne Gladney and also it's newest couple of 1 year Mr. Larry Hamilton and Maetta Rollins.

A "big" Congratulations goes out to the Community's Holiday Card Contest Winner...our very own resident Mr. Luis Cortez!!!!

Mr. Cortez is a Chicago native and a Veteran of the US Navy from 1965-1971. Under the GI Bill, Mr. Cortez attended the Art Institute for 1 year and the American Academy of Art College. His pieces have been showcased at different events across Chicago and Indiana. Mr. Cortez took a 10 week course for computer drafting and has a Degree in Art from Louis University. He was married for 23 years and has one son. Mr. Cortez also loves to play the bass and drums, sings as well as has recorded songs. Since residing here at the Victory Centre of South Chicago, he has voluntarily undertaken teaching weekly art classes to our residents. Even encouraged one of our visually impaired residents to take the class and she loves it. We appreciate you Luis Cortez!

We are incredibly proud of our Victory Centre of Roseland team and all of their support for our wonderful and well-deserving residents. We were honored to host the signing of this critical legislation to promote a better life and quality of care for seniors throughout Illinois. Thank you to Governor Pritzker and his administration for championing the needs of our greatest generation.

Victory Centre of Roseland staff welcomed Governor Pritzker to the community yesterday to officially sign the 246 Nursing Home Funding Reform Bill. This Bill will allow for increased funding to help us to increase the level of dignified purpose filled life we offer our Seniors.

You can be sure our Celebration followed!!!

We are proud to celebrate Marquita Mitchell's 7-year anniversary with Pathway to Living and Victory Centre. Marquita started with us as a Viva! Life Coordinator at Victory Centre of Roseland and was promoted into the Business Office Manager role at Victory Centre of Galewood and has recently relocated to Victory Centre of South Chicago.

"Marquita is a great team member, is dedicated, dependable and has a heart of gold for the residents and co-workers. She makes it a point to take time with each resident and team member and to never rush them. Marquita has only been with the South Chicago team since last November but during that time has gained the respect of the team members and residents. She is an asset to our community in South Chicago, has what it takes to bring us to the next level of service and I am blessed to have her on my team." Anthony Shell, Executive Director
