Celebrate your mental health wins daily; I co-sign this message ♥️

Navigating mental health is a daily practice. Managing health, wellness, finances, decision-making, time management, daily tasks, career, etc can be difficult. Practice recognizing your hero moments daily:
The moments you showed up when it was hard.
The moments you set a boundary.
The moments you didn’t internalize a situation or feedback.
Celebrate you and the growth journey you are on!

In case you need it, I just want to send a little cheer your way today.

Living with chronic illness and mental health issues is really hard – especially when it’s invisible or other people struggle to understand it. Whether you live alone or don’t have anyone around who will cheer-lead you, please don’t let those achievements of yours go unnoticed.

You are allowed to give yourself a pat on the back and be proud of the fact that you cleaned your room, enforced a boundary, didn’t self harm, ate whatever you wanted, kept emotionally regulated, allowed yourself to rest – or did anything else to help your mental health, happiness and recovery.

And remember, if today wasn’t your day, and you weren’t able to do much, that’s okay too.
Your achievement can be that you’re still here fighting, even though it feels hard right now.

Grief has surrounded us for a long time now. From losses in our families and friendship circles to well-loved celebrities. Grief and loss aren't limited to death. We experience loss of relationships, health, finances, employment, health care, opportunities, pets, and so on. We aren't trained how to grieve in western society but therapy can help you in your grief journey.

Trauma can interrupt the core of one’s being and identity formation. Healing and release can help one to reconnect with their body in healthy ways and reconnect with life itself. Therapy is essential in processing what trauma(s) one has experienced in a contained and safe environment. If you haven’t considered therapy, please do, we’re here to help!

As long as our map of the world is based on trauma, abuse, and neglect, we are likely to seek shortcuts to oblivion. Anticipating rejection, ridicule, and deprivation, we are reluctant to try out new options, certain that these will lead to failure.

This lack of experimentation traps survivors in a matrix of fear, isolation, and scarcity where it is impossible to welcome the very experiences that might change their basic worldview.

Fear often acts as a protective factor of the body to trigger adaptive responses to harm, pain, anger, and threat. Fear is not a coping skill, not a healthy one, at least. To be less afraid is to cultivate a life you practice reducing stress, engaging in gratitude, releasing emotions pinned in the body, facing fears incrementally, and practicing self-compassion. Responding vs. reacting takes practice and intentionality. Managing stress takes building habits and routines that allow you to show up consistently. Holiday weekends are vital times to remember how you CHOOSE to show up. Holidays can stir deep emotions of grief, loss, a celebration of life, rituals, memories, fear, love, gratitude, thankfulness, etc. Respond out of the healthiest versions of yourself. Create space for what you need internally —reflect, write down significant emotions, meditate, pray, practice deep breathing, move your body, light a candle, and above all, choose to respond to yourself and others.
