A working board of young professionals who raise funds for a pivotal project in the area of cardiogenic shock at Northwestern Medicine.

The Auxiliary Board of Northwestern Memorial Hospital is a group of young professionals and community leaders who raise funds to support innovative research programs at Northwestern Memorial. Founded in 1987, The Auxiliary Board has committed more than $2 million to enhance treatment for patients and their families through a host of patient care initiatives. The Auxiliary Board focuses on providing “seed money” to programs and research initiatives. We officially end our board year and two-year pledge to support innovative lung cancer research at with a final donation of $30,000, bringing our total donation to the Cancer Center to over $130,000! While we could not hold THRIVE this year, the board still came together, albeit virtually, to continue to support cancer research. Our final check presentation looked a little different this year as Dr. Platanias, Director of the Lurie Cancer Center, presented the board with an “Exceptional” Cancer Center t-shirt, all while maintaining social distancing and wearing masks. We are honored to support such an amazing hospital and leading cancer center. 💜

The Auxiliary Board of Northwestern Memorial Hospital pledged $2,000 today to to fund meals for cancer patients during this uncertain time. Unfortunately, for some cancer patients treatment cannot stop despite the pandemic we are facing. ensures that even during the most trying of times, patients will still have a fresh and nutrious meal delivered during their treatment. The Auxiliary Board members look forward to resuming our delivery shifts with soon and wish everyone health and wellness during this time. 💌
