I’m excited to share that I’ve graciously been invited to teach an in-depth study of the Myofascial System at Grateful Yoga in Evanston next month! Read on to learn what we’ll be covering and how this exploration will not only teach you how to release fascial tension but how to integrate these releases into your everyday life:

The Myofascial System
Fascia embeds every tissue in our body; from the largest muscle group, down to the tiniest cell. It’s deeply intertwined with our energy and awareness, sometimes holding onto layers of physical, mental, or emotional tension until we consciously release them.

Since the fascia is a system that conducts its way throughout the whole body, a restriction in one area can affect the tissues in another; creating unhealthy holding patterns and overall decreased mobility. These restrictions can hold us back - both in our yoga or fitness practice and in the simple act of moving through daily life.

The Myofascial Freedom Workshop Experience
In this immersive workshop, we’ll explore the fascinating world of the fascial system and experience how freeing the body can also free the mind. Using myofascial release techniques with foam rollers and therapy balls, you’ll help your body soften tight patterns and restore fascia to its natural, fluid state.

Beyond the physical, we’ll dive into interoceptive and somatic practices that foster a deeper connection between body, mind, and spirit. By releasing stored tension on every level, you’ll support your nervous system, cultivate lasting freedom, and rediscover ease in movement - and in life.

Join us for one, two or all four of the sessions! Details below:

When: Fridays March 6, 13, 20, 27
Time: 9:30am-10:45am CST
Where: Grateful Yoga - 1108 Davis Street - Evanston, IL

Some of you may have noticed I’ve been offline for a little while. I just wanted to check in and let you know that, although I haven’t been active here, I definitely haven’t been idle!

Behind the scenes, I’ve been diving deep into continuing education - both for my board renewal and for my own growth in areas that deeply inspire me🙌🏼💕

As a provider, I’m always working to stay current with the latest insights in healing and wellness, while also challenging myself to elevate the standards of care in our field. My goal is to integrate all that’s possible to better support your healing journey.

Recently, I’ve been exploring topics such as trauma physiology, diving even deeper into myofascial dysfunction and pain, and ways to incorporate manual lymph drainage into our work together.

I’m super excited about all that I’m learning and can’t wait to share these new tools and perspectives with you!

For now, I’m FULLY immersed in this process of expanding my knowledge, skills, and understanding - so that when we reconnect, I can bring even more to our somatic coaching and myofascial release sessions.

Stay tuned, and I look forward to seeing you again soon! Photo credit - a friend gifted me a photo shoot with

Lately, I’ve been noticing how easy it is to slip into the fear loop — to scroll, tense, and absorb more than my nervous system can hold.

The moment I realized just how much I was carrying, everything shifted. I started making small, intentional changes to come back home to my body - to calm, presence, and trust.

If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed by the noise of the world, you’re not alone.

Our nervous systems can only take in so much - and learning how to care for them is an act of resistance and of healing.

Swipe through to see what helped me step off the fear timeline and into balance again.

Finding your footing in the middle of chaos and the world burning down around us - can feel impossible - but it’s where real strength begins.

Lately, many clients have asked me: “What are you doing to stay grounded during this time?”

Today, I’m sharing some of my thoughts and practices in the hope that they inspire you to connect with what helps you feel centered and release what no longer serves you.

Remember, emotions are energy in motion. When we allow ourselves to feel, that energy can move through us instead of getting stuck in us.

Most of us were never taught how to do that- how to truly feel and process our emotions. So if you find yourself needing extra support, please reach out to a trusted therapist or loved one for guidance.

In the meantime, if you’re willing to lean into what you feel, see what it’s like to let that energy move. Try one of the grounding practices I share here - or follow the movements and moments that bring you joy.

If you’re feeling nauseous, overwhelmed, or detached from reality - if constant headaches make you want to crawl into bed and hide - know that these are normal responses.

We live in a world filled with injustice and chaos. It’s natural to feel distress, whether through headaches, nausea, disassociation, or zoning out. What matters most is remembering that you’re not alone.

This is your reminder to care for yourself just as much as you care for others. Take breaks. Step away when you need to, and return when you’re ready. We need you - strong, grounded, and healthy. But you can only show up that way by making time to care for yourself first.

It’s hard to find words big enough to capture what John Barnes meant to me - and to so many others. His work didn’t just change the way I practice bodywork; it changed the way I live and even see the world.

John’s Myofascial Release approach serves as a bridge connecting many aspects of my life - from my transformational dance practice to years of shamanic study and time spent with Indigenous communities. I vividly remember my first seminar, when I felt an immediate sense of home in his approach. I was so inspired that I cleared my schedule for the week and signed up for the next seminar right away.

Working with the fascia - from his approach, experience and perspective - have greatly transformed the way I view and work with the human body and human being. This 3-dimensional web of connective tissue is SO much more than just a physical structure in the body. It’s the great connector of our body, mind and spirit.

As I sit here reflecting on my time studying with John over the past 14 years, many of the profound moments I remember from seminars were humorous ones that bring a smile to my face and laughter that touches my heart. John’s wisdom, humor, and kindness touched so many of us.

We all know that as humans, we’re not here forever. But some people feel like they could be. John was one of those rare souls.

He’ll live on, in our hearts, through his teachings, and in every person whose life he helped open and heal. Thank you so much for all that you brought to this world, John. RIP🙏🏼🕊️💕

What a beautiful journey this year has been.

Women’s circles are sacred spaces - places to come exactly as you are. No masks, no fixing, no “shoulds.” Just being present, seen, and heard for who you truly are.

In circle, we remember that healing doesn’t always come from doing, but from being - being witnessed, being held, being connected with other women walking their own paths of growth and renewal.

Tonight marks our final circle of 2025, and what an honor it’s been to hold this space over the past year. Every story shared, every tear, every moment of laughter and silence has been medicine.

Here’s to the circles yet to come in the new year - to continuing to gather, heal, and rise together.
