All are welcome to attend. Bring your friends. Please reply if you are planning to attend and how many people you are bringing so I get a rough head count.

Hello Students,

Have a nice weekend!

Dear Students,
As most of you know, I have put the radiology elective on a block schedule. Although this makes it harder to schedule an elective rotation, the 4 week block allows more effective learning. My primary goal is to provide the best educational experience for all of you and I feel this is better done in a block type schedule.

The following are dates for the start of the block rotation.

02/01/2016
02/29/2016
03/28/2016
04/25/2016
05/23/2016
06/20/2016
07/18/2016

Please send me a message with the block that you prefer. Also, please reach out to your clinical coordinators at your school to reserve a spot.

Please reserve your spots as early as possible. Remember the more students that take a block, the better your experience with me. I tend to give more lectures when I have more students. Have your friends sign up with you.

Sincerely,
Dr. Kapur

I wanted to get a poll from the present students if they are interested in doing some morning report type lectures for the following week. In the past, I pretend to be a patient coming to the ER or your office with a complaint. The students get to take the history, ask questions about physical exam, order tests and come up with differential diagnoses. Let me know if you want to switch it up next week.

01/15/2016

The next rotation block is only a couple of weeks away. Talk to your clinical coordinators and sign up for the next block. If enough students sign up, I will do 2 hours of lectures everyday including the new USMLE step 2 preparation lectures. You will finally understand the material rather than committing it to your short term memory. Get your friends to sign up with you. The more, the better.

01/12/2016

Update about future lectures.

This weekend I started compiling the first of many lectures that will incorporate USMLE Step 2 type questions. The goal is to make the lectures immediately pertinent to all of you. I will introduce the basic concept that your test makers expect you to know as well as the variations of the question stem. I am confident this strategy will raise your scores. You will understand the concepts rather than memorizing what seems to be random information.

01/11/2016

I hope the first week was enjoyable and a good learning experience for all students. Week 2 is much more intensive. The morning lectures will continue to expand upon concepts that I introduced in the first week. We will continue to learn how to read a chest x-ray. You will also start learning normal anatomy on a CT scan of the chest, abdomen, and pelvis.

Dr. Shah will go over the worksheets from the first week.

01/05/2016

Welcome to the new batch of students! I look forward to working with you all. I hope you will find this rotation as helpful as my past students. For those who are still around, 7AM lectures on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays are still on.

12/29/2015

Thank you to everyone who has written reviews. For those who have not yet written a review, I encourage you to do so.

Because of your feedback, an improved version of the rotation will start early next year. The improved rotation will be on a block schedule. This means there will be a set start date. Students will progress through the rotation together. You will receive the lecture series as it was meant to be given. Each lecture builds upon the concepts learned in earlier lectures. This is why it is so important to receive the lectures in order. When students start in the middle of the block, some concepts may not be clear.

In addition to learning image interpretation and differential diagnosis, I will be discussing numerous clinical problems including the work up of headaches, stroke, dementia, back pain, cough, dyspnea, lung nodules, chest pain, abdominal pain, joint pain, and many other topics.

For this lecture series to happen, I need you to sign up for the block rotation. The first block starts February 2, 2016. I need at least 10 people to sign up for the first block. Please have your friends sign up with you at the same time.

Respond to this thread if you are interested in signing up for the first block. I am confident that you will be very satisfied with the improved curriculum.
