On Thursday, a patient came in and was so proud because he bought one of our cork screws at an estate sale. While talking to him, I figured out the estate sale was for one of my former patients. She was just a true gem. She had been my patient since the inception of JVB. In that time, she became so much more than a patient. She truly became a friend. I know she touched many lives. I was blessed to attend that estate sale, and bought two pieces of furniture. I can’t wait to make them my own. I hope my patients know how much a part of my life they become. You truly are a piece of my heart. ❤️ you Therese

Did you know only 1.8% of females hold a doctoral degree. I’m very proud to be a part of that statistic. I achieved my Bachelor‘s of Science from Marquette University in 2006. I majored in Athletic Training. While I was in PT school, I served as the AT for our cross country and track teams. It was an amazing experience. In 2008, I graduated with my Doctorate in Physical Therapy. During that training, I learned how to differentiate between orthopaedic issues and general health issues. Over my 18 year career, I have seen so much. I have helped endless joint replacements, rotator cuff repairs and general pain complaints. Many of you have come to me with a myriad of issues. I have cared for each and every one of you…I have thought about every patient I referred out or sent to the ER…I have cared for each of you on a personal level. I am proud to be a part of that 1.8%. It’s likely to be even less for that girl to go on an own a business. Thank you for trusting me as your physical therapist…thank you for trusting me as your “doctor”…thank you for believing in me

Cheers to 8 years! I cannot believe it’s been 8 years. From golf outings…wine walks…St. Patrick’s Day parties…vacations…Holiday Strolls…Halloween parties…5ks…over 1,000 patients…many many memories. Thank you for all of your love and support. There have been many peaks and valleys, but through it all we survived. Cheers to the next adventure!

FF Mike Altman of the Chicago Fire Department, assigned to Truck 47, was critically injured March 16th while doing what he always did- putting others first. After some time in Cook County Hospital’s burn unit, he has tragically has passed away from his injuries.
