Multidisciplinary care benefits both patients and doctors! 🌟 At our first CARE clinic conference, we all came together—pediatric urology, pediatric surgery, urogynecology, pediatric & adolescent gynecology, nursing, and PT—to learn from each other. 💡 From treating anorectal malformations at birth to managing prolapse in girls with spina bifida or bladder exstrophy, every discussion highlighted the power of collaboration. Grateful for this incredible team!

So proud of our first-year fellow, Dr. Emile Redwood, for presenting at the 2025 CREOG & APGO Annual Meeting in Philadelphia! 🌟🏳️‍⚧️ Their talk highlighted the current climate for trans patients, transgender trainees, and the transgender standardized patient simulation curriculum.

The APGO and ACOG community remains committed to eliminating systemic racism and the resultant disparities in health care and the learning environment. Grateful to be part of a space that champions equity, inclusion, and progress in medical education!

🌟 Exciting News from Our Team! 🌟
Drs. Brown and Geynisman-Tan recently published a qualitative study on improving intimate partner violence (IPV) interventions in emergency departments. 💡

Read the article here: https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10896-024-00776-y

📝 What the Study Explored:
• Barriers and facilitators to IPV interventions in adult EDs.
• Insights from providers across disciplines (physicians, nurses, social workers).
• Recommendations for structural changes to better support patients experiencing IPV.
💡 Key Findings:
• Existing protocols are not always enough—factors like provider training, ED workflows, and resource access significantly impact intervention success.
• Suggestions include private patient interviews, specialized IPV training, and 24-hour social work coverage.
